I really wish that Henry Rollins would either get Black Flag back together or play Rollins Band stuff. His spoken word is cool but i would really love to hear his music. Anyone know if he is still doing music or is he strictly spoken word now?

What is his spoken word? Does he tell jokes? Does he read poems? Does he chit-chat?

iunno, but i wanna watch this set. i know some douche is going to yell something clever and i want to see how Rollins will respond to it. plus, Rollins is a pretty cool guy and i'm down to hear him talk for a half hour.

i'll try to catch whatever he does, i loved his IFC show, indie 103.1 show, and some of his spoken word. I remember a rant he had about medication as a kid (Ritalin ? ) made him feel and think, whenever I'm working with kids in my job that seem over medicated.

Rollins spoken word is awesome.

He's definitely a better speaker than Sean Penn.

It's somewhere between a stand-up comic and Jello Biafra's spoken word stuff. Fun stuff.

EDIT- It's NOT like Family Man.

ya i saw a youtube of his spoken word
he was just railing on EDM for a while then he railed on modern rock.
It was funny, albeit reductive and a bit silly.
" ZOMG TECKNO DJZ DONT DO THINGS" <- true enough but reductive nonetheless
whatever
i doubt i'll see it but it is a little bit LOL

HA!...way back on The Boxed Life album, he did a thing about house music. I always intended to sample his impersonation of a house beat, and then combine it with Dana Gould's old "Bicycle...hat...bicycle...hat..." bit about going to an industrial/goth club.

anyone who would prefer to hear Rollins band OBVIOUSLY hasn't yet heard this guy's spoken word... genius.

Agreed, though he should do another Wartime album.
