I recall a few weeks back getting an e-mail from The Glasshouse mailing list regarding a secret Coachella show. I know they have done this in the past, but who do you think it will be this year?

they said it was someone who had performed the glasshouse before, and they said something like "let's hope they get that girl drummer back in the band".

everybody thought it was the white stripes. but the time the lineup was announced and the white stripes weren't on it, everybody had forgotten this glasshouse rumor.

MBV has never had a girl drummer, toured the U.S. last year, and has alcoholic fans (the Glass House, sadly, does not serve booze). Not sayin' they won't play, just sayin' it won't be for any of these reasons.

The Glasshouse is already booking secret Coachella shows!

"we have confirmed a few other shows, including the first of many "secret" coachella
shows...but those will be announced later of course :-)"

It was sent in there weekly newsletter.

myspace message on coachella secret show @ the glass house
so i say:
okay thats fair, but how about a hint.
number of members in the group?
female drummer?
color, animal, inanimate objects in the name?

glass house says:
what fun would that be? i can be honest and tell you that its a band who has played the room in the last few years. its not a "super group" per say....but hopefully, we will get that female drummer band back soon, haha

not trying to get anyones panties knotted up yet,
but white stripes is all i care to think about right now.

it could be all BS, but if so we fell for it.

I think Glass House was saying they hope they'll get that band with the girl drummer back soon. Meaning they have no idea when but they hoped. That's in no way suggestive of the show they were talking about.

Silly.

if there are more "secret" Coachella shows, maybe they'll have the Fox Theatre open in time for Coachella and they can do a slightly bigger show. For Glass House i'm calling out a sub-headliner....either Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Black Keys or TVOTR. I don't remember TVOTR playing at the Glass House, but YYYs and BK have.

If they open the Fox Theatre, I can see MBV, Morrisey or Franz filling it up pretty quick.

that is kind of the point of a secret show, usually it is at a small place by a band that is too big to normally play the place.

although the glasshouse does seem like it is on the brink of collapse, maybe they want the insurance money...or wait that might be a bigger mess than they would want.

conor oberst is playing the glasshouse pre-coachella. it's on pollstar already.

and I think as Randy pointed out the girl drummer thing is a red herring. when I brought it up again I didn't expect it to be taken so seriously again. the rumors we spawned from it were ridiculous and I thought that would be more obvious in retrospect. it would have been better to let it be forgotten.

that mexican restaurant is weak. why dont you guys cross the main street and go over to the dive bar, its called shooters or characters, its right past the pizza place. way cheap stiff drinks from a real bartender. i have been to that mexican restaurant and had sub par drinks, very sub par.

Best places to drink when going to a show at the Glass House:

Character's (previously mentioned dive bar)

Glass House Bar next door
The Brick - gay bar down the street, only open Wed-Sat though

but i know what Coachella Bound is talking about-i saw Team Sleep the other year and a friend who also got fistered at Characters earlier, called the ambulance on himself while yakking in the upstairs bathroom@The Glasshouse only to walk out of the venue before the show to recover in the parking lot-leaving the EMTs hanging at the Glass House only to service someone else who couldnt hang-i didnt let my friend hear the end of it that night though...

i dont tink anyone is under the impression Pomona or the IE has the only ghettos in the world. it doesnt take a valley or westside bubble to burst for me to know that.
