They're playing virtually everywhere in California, and it's not like their show is 50$+ like Coldplay would be. Jesus. I mean, you people whine piss and moan about Coachella not getting quality acts and then you ask them to book Ratatat who have played California over a handful of times over the last three years? What the fuck people?

Are they actually worth seeing live...? From the videos I've seen it seems like watching two guys play guitar riffs over a backtrack.

PassiveTheory
02-10-2009, 02:28 PM
It's worth 20$. That's what I figured. Plus a ton of my friends are going, so yeah.

The SF shows are on a Wednesday and Thursday... I need a little more motivation than that.

Fair enough. Let me put it this way, I think your money was better spent on the M83 Phil show.

I've already purchased my ticket for their Seattle show at the end of March, excited. They would be a great Coachella add but they swing through CA in the beginning of April and are on the East coast during Coachella, methinks they won't be playing Indio on the 17-19.

I agree, I am very excited for that one. The overall trip down to LA for the weekend is going to be fun too.

I understand what you're saying, but people have school, work, obligations, lives and can't always make it out to a show when a band tours...especially since the economy has been tanking for while now, it cuts back on some concert spending that I would otherwise have no problem with...Coachella gives you a chance to catch a bunch of great bands over the same weekend in a wonderful setting

PassiveTheory

Okay, I can dig that. Still, it's not like this is the last time Ratatat are ever going to tour.

true, I wasn't specifically calling for Ratatat, I really like LP3 though and would watch them if they were there...but I just saw them at the end of last year, so I can wait on them

personally though, the economy destroyed my business, and I've had to miss a ton of shows over the last 6 months that I would've definitely gone to, and that trend is going to continue for at least the next 6 months for me...so cramming all the bands I'd like to see into Coachella would be a wonderful way for me to satisfy my live music obsession for a while

Because all of us that attend Coachella are obviously from California.

From Ratatat

"There are a couple more east coast dates getting added in the next week or so too, so if you don't see your city on there check back in a little while.

After the US tour we're going to Australia, New Zealand, China & Vietnam! We'll post those dates as soon as we've got them."
