not the question, the band.
i know they played a couple years back, but it'd be rad to have them again. i missed them last time they played, but i saw them live in LA playing at the Natural History museum (in one of the dark rooms with all the little wilderness scenes behind glass) and they are a perfect "coachella" band. they'd just be great to see playing outdoors under the hot sun.

agreed?
i just love their live set. multi-tasking instruments and everything. they'd be rad to have at Coachella again.

that's the only song of theirs that i think is any good.
elephant eyelash is the only album i have, though.
that's what it's called, right?

Why? have actually never played Coachella. It'll happen, one of these years, if I can help it. They MUST play. I knew for sure they hadn't played in 06 cause that was right around when like half this board was jizzing over Elephant Eyelash, but I went back and checked all the posters just to make absolutely sure. They are due.

how Why? haven't played, but Akron/Family has is beyond me

More to the point, I can't believe fucking Annuals have played and Why? haven't. Next year, I hope? It'd be nice to see an anticon tour and get Why?, Odd Nosdam and a few others for the festival next year.

lickety split, you really should give them another try. while gemini was definitely their most easily-accessible song probably ever, they have an incredibly solid catalog if you just give them some time to grow on you.

this is the first song i ever heard by them and it made me love them. i listened to it so much i wore the mix cd down.

early whitney

this next one was sort of their single from their newest album alopecia

the hollows
23yWqjSC6fM

another one off their new album...so beautiful. (not really a word you'd think to associate with why?)

simeon's dilemma
xPrGYakUgMs

this one off of elephant eyelash i really can't believe you didn't like.

waterfalls
po3HLSRBQfY

i couldn't find a recorded version of this but shit, it's a good song. too short.

500 fingernails

and then the good ol fan favorite...

tessalet, i can't believe you left out Fatalist Palmistry!
definitely a must hear for anyone who liked Gemini.

PS oh oops, one of my friends told me he was confident that they did.
but i guess that's what i get for taking the word of somebody who also wasn't there.

Isn't Why? involved with Themselves?

PotVsKtl

No. They're on the same label and are friends and have collaborated in other projects in the past, but other than that, no.

WilliamTaft

they're label mates, but they don't share members.

but Yoni was in cLOUDDEAD, Greenthink, Hymie's Basement, and Reaching Quiet as far as i know. all are awesome (although i don't like Greenthink as much as the others), and i have yet to hear Reaching Quiet.

apparently Josiah made an EP at one point, but i have yet to find it.

Is Why? considered a 'they' now? It was just one person to begin with, right?

Why? has been a band since the Sanddollars EP.

woah, regarding Anticon projects, i just realized Themselves was booked Sunday! i can't belive i looked over them upon first reading the poster.

if you haven't heard them yet, get "The No Music". it's Doseone (who was also in cLOUDDEAD) and Jel. really awesome group.
