It sounds waaaaay too big to be the Mohave. But I have no idea really. My judgement is horrible. And all we know is that it's a tent.

Plus the Sahara is supposed to hold like 10,000 right? So I guess that makes sense logically.

well they didn't say they were opening the main stage but there was an interview in a magazine with them and they were talking about how they were playing Coachella and that they had a really good slot because they got to play the main stage. I just put them down because i figure they will be earlier but not necessarily opening.

Hi Josh-

MOJAVE Stage at 11pm up against Paul McCartney. I’m pretty Paul is shaking in his boots.

Best,

I called it. I said either Ghostland, Crystal Castles or Genghis Tron would close the Mojave.

Also, Fucked Up's booking agent just told me he couldn't tell me until GV gave him the OK to release the info.

EDIT: This also confirms Paul is playing till midnight on the mainstage... and not 11pm like Roger Waters.

Just google search [band name] booking. It will most likely appear.

I wonder how long Morrissey's set is? 8pm to 9:15 or 9:30? That is a pretty long set for a sub headliner.
Morrissey is arguably bigger than any other sub Coach has had, especially since we're in So Cal and he's huge out here.
Maybe Portishead is as big...but thats a big maybe

i think ssp close out the outdoor theatre. 8:50-9:40

and that Oberst goes on before Cohen on the OT and The Black Keys before Franz on the main stage.

My bet is that it may go down like this:

MAIN:

Paul McCartney 10:00 -12:00PM
Morrisey 8:00 - 9:20 PM
Franz Ferdinand 6:30-7:30PM

OUTDOOR
the Black Keys 9:00pm-10PM
Leonard Cohen 7:30PM - 8:40PM

SAHARA
the Crystal Method 10:30 - 12:00PM
Ghostland Observatory 9:00PM - 10:00PM
Girl Talk 7:45 - 8:45PM

If this is the case.... Ghostland Vs Black Keys conflict will suck big time :(

I'm thinking

Main:

Morrissey - 8pm-ish - 9:15pm
Macca - 10pm - end

Outdoor:
Leonard Cohen - 6:45 - 8:15pm
Beirut - 8:30 - ???

So there probably won't be much over an extended overlap between Morrissey and Leonard Cohen, just a bunch of running back and forth to stages.

No, what would suck is a conflict between Leonard Cohen and Morrissey. Why would someone go on KCRW and talk about how it's a day of songwriters and have two of the biggest three playing at the same time? Ridiculous. I hope and pray that information is wrong.

can always see moz when he hits LA in the summer/fall because i'm sure he will. I'll catch the end of his set. miss franz and beirut ouch.

Yeah but the beginning of the set is when he plays "This Charming Man" and "How Soon Is Now?" and suppose the Marr rumors are true?

Obvious solution to this potential musical 9/11? Cohen 7-8pm outdoor, Moz 8-9:10 main, Macca 9:45-12 main. Then the three songwriting legends can all be seen.

Seriously. Conflicts are unavoidable and personal preferences aside, there are just some things you don't do. EVER. And they are...
1) schedule once-in-a-lifetime acts against each other (The Knife vs Boards of Canada)
2) reunion against a headliner (imagine if Pixies played during Radiohead)
3) bands of the same genre that doesn't have much representation at the festival (Public Enemy vs Cypress Hill, which actually happened at Vegoose, or Mogwai vs Mono)
4) legendary acts of similar status (Cohen vs Moz)

But let's just hope and pray to Xenu the person speaking on behalf of Beirut is mistaken or has inaccurate info.

This sound a lot like Street scene 2007. Tricky was on the booklet handed out when you walked in and didn't even play. My Chemical Romance was set to open for Tool who would play against Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Thank God that's not what happened. Set times were posted by the stages and changed throughout the day and nobody started at stated times. However it all worked out nicely unless you were one of those who got trash compacted by douchy San Diego Tool Meatheads.

conor has always played on the outdoor theatre at coachella. I don't think that is going to change and if i had to guess i'd say before cohen because a morrissey, beirut, oberst conflict would be fucking stupid. So that would have him conflicting with Franz.
