Can't wait for Lupe, but:

Q-tip's new record is incredibly dope.

Or how 'bout Mos Def/Black Jack Johnson?

Kweli/Soulquarians/Native Tongues?

Common? Beatnuts? Blackalicious?

Guru/Premier?

Dilated? Hiero? Handsome Boy? O.C.?

Black Milk? Skyzoo/Ninth Wonder?

Anybody? Anybody?!?

kthxbye

Hmm... naw let's just have Atmosphere play for the 6th straight year

Trick Loves The Kids

and be honest do you REALLY want to see Gangstarr in 2009?

Black Jack Johnson has been pretty much abandoned by Mos Def.

Guru and Premiere haven't spoken in 6 years.

Soulquarians is pretty much done. Native Tongues wouldn't be practical, because you'd get the same effect at any normal hip hop show where they bring out guests for posse raps.

Handsome Boy is done.

Black Milk would be fun.

Guru and Premier > Gangstarr

dorkfish

Guru and Premier > Gangstarr
what?

Jef-free
02-05-2009, 03:38 PM
Okay, so my tastes are a little c. 2002.

But hello, Paul McCartney?

thom cobain
02-05-2009, 03:40 PM
guru and premier = gangstarr

dorkfish
02-05-2009, 03:41 PM
guru and premier = gangstarr
yeah, that's the math equation that I understand.

Jef-free
02-05-2009, 03:46 PM
Yeah, well, I'd still rather see Gangstarr in 2009 than Paul McCartney.

Nujabes... Solillaquists of Sound... Why?... Alias...

Lots of stuff missing.

Jef-free

The same way Mos and Kweli could put a record out tomorrow and it wouldn't necessarily have to be "Blackstar",

Guru and Premier > Gangstarr

WhyTheLongFace

Guru and Premier > Gangstarr

You smoking that sherm

thom cobain
02-05-2009, 03:56 PM
then why is guru and premier > gangstarr?

Jef-free
02-05-2009, 04:00 PM
then why is guru and premier > gangstarr?

Jesus. Nevermind.

Gangstarr = Guru and Premier = Gangstarr

I just want all you nice people to like me, that's all.

the hip hop is really strong this year wish Q-tip was there because he did put out the best hip hop album last year but oh well can't really complain with Public Enemy and Clipse on the bill.

I think I've said this before, but we should have gotten the Pharcyde. They got together for Rock the Bells... so why not for us? Ok, maybe I'm just pissed that I missed my chance.

They didn't in SF, unfortunately.

I still enjoyed Atmosphere last time I saw them at Vegoose, so it's not really that big of a deal to me.

Yeah, he played during Roger Waters, so I didn't get to see him.

At least we got Public Enemy this year.

That's what I thought....I caught a few minutes of him during Waters' halftime I think. Couldn't remember for positive 'cause the shrooms had a pretty strong hold of me.
