if it was 1991 I'd be so stoked.

P.S. That post is 5 months old. Just saying.

If this is true (and it probably isn't) I count this as a win for Coachella.

Don't kid yourself. Whether you like them or not it would be a big get for Bonnaroo.

In considering attending the 'Roo for the first time, I would just be concerned about a possible Wilco vs. RHCP conflict. I know the hate spews on the Peps, but I am a huge fan. LOOOOOVE them. However, I think it's weird that they would play w/o a new album. Just listened to a John Frusciante interview, (He just put out a new solo album) and when RHCP were brought up by the interviewer, he told the guy to turn off the tape recorder.

true story...I have had a chance to see RCHP 3 times and I missed them on purpose...true story...not that I hate them...I just never cared to see them live.

I didn't see them in '07 and the one time I did see them, Stone Temple Pilots opened for them and totally blew them off the stage. The only thing I remember from their set was Frusciante playing/singing a verse from Berlin's "The Metro".

I don't think I am being a hater. In fact, I was bothered that Pitchfork couldn't find a place for them in their top 500. In 2009 though they're not in my past enough to make me nostalgic, yet too established to feel fresh.

We should start posting our threads of unconfirmed confirmed acts and they'll believe it too!

They are good by themselves. They are TERRIBLE at festivals. See coachella 07.

Pffft. It's called a vocal harmony. Please, do list the bands that you like so we can dissect their every lyric.

or we could list a bunch of bands that are actually relevant to COACHELLA . . . . . just a thought.

How can this be? In all fairness I didn't see but a few songs of their Coachella 07 set but after consulting youtube videos, I'd say they were pretty damn good.

RHCP are pretty damn relevant to Coachella. They've only HEADLINED the festival twice... just saying...

P.S. I highly doubt they play Bonnaroo 09.

I hate that I agree with you. Not sure if anyone else noticed, but during the '07 set Anthony was literally on his cell phone with a finger in the opposite ear during some of the musical interludes. He was just not really "there". When I saw their show at the Forum in '06 they were on fucking fire. Perhaps they are somewhat aware of all the hate spewed among the 'Chella hipsters and are basically like..."Fuck you." That's no excuse though.

I've seen RHCP at a festival and on their own tour...they sucked balls both times. I just can't get into them anymore. BSSM was an end of an era. :(
