I didnt really get to see them on tour for the last album. I saw most of them at Coachella, but stupidly decided to get a good place for Madonna, which was pointless. So I wont miss them this time. Hopefully they will be on the outdoor stage during the Cure.

Karen O is completely bat-shit insane and I want to impregnate her.

I can't believe the crazy things she can do with her voice. I've seen YYYs a few times now and I'm still excited for their set this year. Just hoping there aren't any conflicts.

Can't WAIT! Saw them alone in whatever year Fever to Tell came out...03? 04? I also saw them at Lolla in 07 and can say they can def play well in a festival setting.

It is testament to how good they were, that in ~10 posts no one has corrected me (2006 of course being the return of Robot Jesus)

I thought they were pretty bland in 06 unfortunately. However, I was pretty far away from the stage so I might have missed a lot of the energy. I'll make sure not to make the same mistake this year.

Remember they have a new album coming out in April. We are gonna get tons of new shit in addition to older favorites. :D

Give me Rockers To Swallow and Black Tongue, and I'm good with whatever else they play.

saw them at troubadour before they played mainstage coachella 2006/7...what ever year that was.

I'm excited about the new album, I've heard its not quite like their previous releases...if my face isnt getting replaced by a new and more favorable matrix in the sahara I will be there.

Incredibly torn over the inevitable conflict between seeing Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Throbbing Gristle. Every twisted bit of logic is telling me that I should see Throbbing Gristle, but every bit of passion is pulling me out for Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

As my friend said, "The only way to enjoy Throbbing Gristle live is to be fucked up in leather and having an orgy."

For real. My initial reaction: I liked it more when Zinner was playing guitar. In all fairness the second half of the song is much better. I like it but it's a very differet sound from YYYs, Karen sounded a bit subdued as well. Can't wait to hear the new album.

It's a tough choice, but I think you have to go with TG on this one. The YYY's have a new album coming out and will most likely be making a tour stop in your town in the next year. Can't say the same for TG.

I actually think YYYs and MBV will conflict. Not YYYs and Throbbing Gristle.

Both YYYs and MBV are going to play the mainstage. Either of them on the Outdoor would be a total injustice.

yeah yeah yeah's will pwn

whatever else you could come up with would probably be accurate, including blow, suck off, fuck, butt-fuck, or have sex with

to describe what Karen O and YYY will do to the audience this year..

Nick is going to predominately play synths on the new album. So Yeah Yeah Yeahs have a high possibility of losing me as a fan. I will listen to that "Zero" song when I get home though.

Same. Its kinda sad, I love them so much.
They are the reason why I'm going this year. But no matter what music they decide to make I will still go see them whenever they play near me because they will most likely always play their older stuff.

what if the YYY actually play the Sahara. With a whole new synth sound, I dont know, there are some bands that have played the Sahara that i didnt think really deserve it.

humanoid

unlikely, considering they were previously a mainstage performer and they haven't diminished in stature since then

I'm definitely reeeeeeeally psyched about this. Looking forward to hearing the faves and the new material... I myself actually like synth in a lot of cases, but I feel like that might kinda destroy the sound/attitude they had going until now. The new song "Zero" reminds me a LOT of the Pretenders. Hrmmm indeed...

Yeah I downloaded it, heard teh beginning, didn't listen to rest. It didn't sound promising though =X

On the other hand, I'm crazy in love with "Zero" -- yeah it's not the YYYs we've been loving, but good lord that is catchy pop awesomeness!!

Regardless, with the upcoming It's Blitz! release and YYYs playing again, I'm getting that "hipster love" for Karen O all over again.

I don't know if they were the best act of 2006 (Massive Attack amirite?) but YYYs did deliver an UNFORGETTABLE performance of Art Star.

Yeah, I'm pumped. God bless Zero!

you guys should go see "The REAL Yeah Yeah Yeahs Thread" ...
it leaked already.

and .... ehhhh....
But "Dull Life" is pretty good.. aside from that.. I don't know how to feel.
Zero is pretty great actually.
Heads Will Roll just has stupid lyrics.

AHhHH!HH!H!!!!

Yeah it's on my download site now, woot!!

And OF COURSE they open album with Zero. I feel a Show Your Bones feel all over again... meaning I probably won't truly appreciate this new album for another 3 years lol.

I'm still stoked!

The new album is overproduced big time. But it will probably translate better live when it is more raw. It will probably grow on me over time, but it's certainly not a knockout.

Listened to It's Blitz a few times now. Sure they're good songs but it feels a too subdued for a YYYs album.

This will be my first time seeing them and I am pretty excited. I've always been more impressed with their album work than their radio play.
