What were your favorite acts last year compared to the bands you expect to be as good this year.

08 For me:
Les Savy Fav (great stage presence)
Islands (same)
Architecture in Helsinki
Annuals
Gogol fucking Bordello
The Raconteurs
Animal collective was definitely an experience, but not super good
Holy fuck
MGMT
Roger Waters is a given
Boyz Noise
Everything else is a blur. I missed most of justice and Fat Boy Slim cause it was too packed and I was too tired.

But this year I'm expecting a good show from:
Throbbing Gristle (just insanity at its best haha)
Girl Talk
Paul McCartney
Franz ferdinand
Tv on the Radio
MSTRKRFT (great in 07, should be even better this year)
Michael Franti
Dr. Dog
PB and J
Superchunk
Fucked up (I'm expecting a good mess on the stage)
booker T

and the rest I'll have to see

What about you guys?

I'm gonna have to go with 08' pending what additions/subtractions we get this year. All bets are off once I actually go though.

Prince > anyone Coachella has had, save Daft and Pixies

No. Prince was good but not great, he didn't play many of his best songs and totally lost me when they busted out that "In the Arms of an Angel" crap cover. Portishead was better than Prince IMHO.

Know who was great last year that I wish I had seen more of? Sia. Beautiful.

Looking forward to this year: Macca, YYY's, MBV, Fleet Foxes, Ghostland, Gui Boratto, Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, Hercules and Love Affair, Antony and the Johnsons, Clipse, Peanut Butter Wolf, People Under the Stairs, TVOTR...and many more.

Depends what you are into. Being about as big of a fan of both (which a huge amount), I was totally geeked when I saw The Time and Sheila E. Not to mention, as much as awe-inspiring Portishead was, I had a fucking BLAST with Prince. Yeah, there was that "Angel" cover, but "Jungle Love" made up for it. It was a perfect Saturday night set.

I wasn't saying he sucks- quite the opposite.
Saw him murder his alter ego last Halloween.
But he played coachella last year, hence the irony of his preference.

...whatever...

Last year my best friend's girlfriend lost our tickets the day before the festival. No one is holding my tickets this time. So this year is looking up already.
