Okay, tons and tons of people are arriving from the Indio Greyhound station which is 6ish miles away from the festival, and why isn't there a shuttle bus? Common courtesy, guys... :(

This will definitely be the first festival I have been to that doesn't have some kind of arranged transport. Will be quite the pain in the arse.

for sure! I went to one in Poland last year and even -that- one had a shuttle bus out to the fields.. what's up with this?

so what you're saying is:
somebody with a bit of foresite could cash in on this "lack of shuttle"

hmmm...

it's true!
if someone with a van sits outside the greyhound station all day on thursday, they could concievably charge like $10 per person for the 5 mile ride, as long as the local taxis aren't cheaper...

that's exactly what I was thinking...hell, not just Thursday, either

if they had the bus schedule and were there all three days it could turn into a once a year business...heh

and don't forget the shuttle back to the station for all those campers!

This could also be true if someone was doing this for the Palm Springs airport as well, like going there at 3 in the morning on Monday which is what i have to do.

lol they want us to lug our bags from the palm springs airport? i think the heat and 4 days without proper food and walking miles and moshing will get everyone enough exercise, honestly

From the Indio Greyhound station to the Polo grounds? No, that's not right.

70 dollars for 5 miles is bullshit, most taxis charge 30 cents for 1/8th of a mile so thats about 12 bucks for 5 miles.

dude.. traffic was soo bad into coachella last year.. we waited like an hour.. it would be kind of hard for a shuttle to pick people up and drop them off..

better a shuttle than have everyone getting in taxis.

theres the city bus that goes right from palm springs airport and drops you off in front of the in and out burger in indio. it costs a buck. I took it last year and it was fine, kinda fun to get a little tour. The festival grounds are about 3 miles from the in and out so from there you can either hitch, which is what i did, or get a cab and it'd be dirt cheap.
