Oh, I'll answer the questions now so people don't have to ask.

--You only get ONE KEY per locker so if you're sharing, know who has it.

--The Medium locker was plenty big for posters/jackets/toilet paper/general small stuff for 2 people.

Only problem with the locker was the ridiculous and slow-moving line at the end of the night Sunday to turn in your key and get your $20 back. Hopefully they've got more than one person manning the booth this year.

If it was more centrally located to the festival it would be a huge improvement, but I'm not sure how that will be possible.

Is it really this dangerous that we should get lockers?

Are the lockers close by to the campgrounds? Why dont you just put all your stuff in your tent or car??

Are there ins and outs so you can go put your stuff in the car then come back in?

I wish we could get a map of the fest that would show were the parking is compared to the camping site to the lockers to the stages.

Nobody ever said anything about Coachella being dangerous. Lockers are more for convenience sake since there are no in/out privileges. Some people are fine with a wallet and phone while I, on the other hand, am not content unless I cram my locker full of merchandise, blankets, a change of clothes, snacks and Cottonelle ass wipes. Your call, paco.

Werd.

Last year, I had a raging headache from too much Sahara. I started walking from the Sahara tent to my locker (which had ibuprofen), but I stopped halfway and actually bought some ibuprofen from a booth for $2 rather than walk all the way back to the locker.

I'd rather be out $2 than miss 15 minutes of someone I want to see.

the x-large lockers really came in handy at Stagecoach where you can bring in chairs & such... but yeah, i can't see why anyone at Coachella would need on of those... the middle size we got last year for three of us and we felt almost embarrassed at all the wasted space...

From their contract which is posted on their site:

The term of this contract begins on Friday April 17, 2009 and ends on Sunday April 19, 2009 or when customer returns the locker patron key to TROPHY LOCKERS and/or forfeits or collects the refundable patron key deposit from TROPHY LOCKERS - whichever occurs first.

and goes on to say...

Overtime Storage Charges shall be calculated at the overtime rate of
Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) per Calendar Day upon the expiration of the Contracted Storage Period.

So basically, if you don't get your stuff Sunday, they charge $25 per day till you get it. I would assume that would include Monday as it states that the initial contract ends on Sunday.

Ok- I've read through this entire thread and visited the website and I didn't find the answer I'm looking for:

Can I get 2 keys if I pay the $20 deposit on each key?

If not, what if I accidentally-on-purpose "lose" my one key, pay the $20 for a new one, and then miraculously "find" my "lost" key, so that I now have 2-- do I get the $40 back from both deposits when I return both keys? Or do I forfeit the $20 on the first key even though I found it???

I could be wrong, but they probably have one key per locker and if you lose it, they still have a secret owners way of opening it without it so you can get your stuff. I doubt they have two of every key on hand since when you get your key you're taking it out of the locker anyway.

Of course, you could always just ask them.

Car-lockers FTW!

Can you imagine though...

you're at the Sahara (or the Main Stage for that matter), and suddenly you need something.. but instead of walking aaaalllll the way to the lockers, you instead have to walk aaaaaalllll the way to camping.. and then find your tent/car and walk aaaalllll the way back? It just eats up more time than necessary.

This was our thought and why we will ultimately still get a locker this year.

But ins and outs are still fantastic! If there's someone we want to see at noon, but then no one after that til say, 4 (?).. we don't HAVE to stay in the venue.

Is it weird I just bought my locker, but have yet to buy my tix?

Well, I reserved my locker in October, so no, if you're taking into account dorks like me.

I was so smug last year when the lockers were all sold out and people were bummed. I think I even had my eyes closed when I asked my guy if he was still laughing at me for reserving one so early. ha

My only complaints about the lockers is that they're so damn far away from everything other than the main stage and that the workers giving you the locks are sooooo slow.

I missed most of Franz Ferdinand last year because the guy assembling the locks was chatting with co-workers and not doing his job assembling locks.

Other than that they're great.

When I lined up the first afternoon, there were locker people taking locks out of boxes matching them up with keys and handing people the locks and keys to take to some guy across the way who would then install the lock into the locker. It took 30+ minutes. The guy matching the keys with locks was taking his sweet time and at one point stopped completely to chat with some guy for 5 minutes about nothing. Maybe it's because I didn't claim my locker till mid-afternoon or something. Still... it annoyed me.

You don't have to have your tickets before you reserve a locker. You just have to possess a 3-day pass when the time comes to walk up and put stuff in your locker, mostly because the lockers are inside the gates. No ticket? No locker.

Not sure why anyone would want to rent a locker for a festival they're not attending, but sometimes disclaimers are silly like that.

In my experience they'll usually let you through with a couple of bottles, although official policy says no so YMMV. Now if you tried walking up with a case of water, I don't think you'd have much luck.

Apologies if this has been covered--I don't have time to read through all the pages in this thread.

I have my ticket, but there is still a chance I will have to back out of attending the festival as the time draws nearer. How is the record of a locker reservation kept--under our name, or just some confirmation code?

In other words, if I end up having to sell my ticket to someone else, would I be able to transfer my locker reservation to them as well?

Thanks.

It requires you to print out your paypal receipt at verification, so I would imagine you could pass that along to whoever you sell it to, and they would likely cross reference with your name/paypal email address. shouldn't be a problem, I think I just handed them my receipt last year, they looked it up and handed me a key.

PS - Don't forget though, they also include a $20 deposit that they refund when you return the key, which you should advise the people you are selling it to.

Lost my key last year in the Sahara. I keep a backpack with warm clothes, all the shirt merch I bought, iPod, etc... in the locker all weekend.

Came back to the locker- empty!- shat a brick. Then talked to Lou about the lost key situation. Not only did he have my bag unmolested which somebody found sitting next to the empty locker, he also spent about 20 minutes with me working out the key situation and was totally cool and relaxed about it even while being accosted by other locker problems.

What's the link for lockers? Tried the one in OP, got a 404.

Thank you. Did they have lockers last year? Don't remember seeing any

Well, it sure seems like people posting earlier in this thread, like in the months leading up to last year's festival, bought them and nobody complained that they got ripped off, so I'd hazard a guess and say yes.

The lockers were there but, depending on whatever particular molecular structure you were experiencing at any given moment during the festival, not there.

They had lockers. On sale now for 2012? That's the $ question.

Just reserved my weekend 2. I also updated the link and prices on the OP.

Also for some reason weekend 2 is $1 cheaper. Win!

Locker for both weekends: purchased. The price difference for w1 and w2 is probably so they don't get dinged for 'duplicate charges' to the same CC/bank account.

Got mine...
for those of you who've never been to coachella or never purchased a locker it is a completely different experience having a secure place to store stuff so you don't have to lug around ALL YOUR STUFF ALL DAY

Got my locker. I love having a place to store my sweater in the day and my hat at night, also great to have a place to put all my merchandise in. Yippee for Coachella :D

Got a medium and a XL. Not sure how much room we're gonna need, but from the sounds of it, I shouldn't have much trouble selling the unused one for what I paid for it.

For whatever reason, I thought we ordered ours last summer during the pre-sale, but must have forgot. This thread saved a potentially disappointing mistake, so thanks for the bump!

Is it ok if the Paypal shipping address shown on my reciept does not match my ID (I bought the festival pass) - just making sure I don't get told the names need to match or something when I get there.

Had someone offer me $200 for my locker on Saturday evening. I declined.

Wow. Locker scalping could be a win this year.

I seriously didn't mind the 30 minutes of downtime going back to my campground (LOT 8!) last year.

Last year they didn't check my ID just the print out.

Are we able to get more than one key?

If it is the same as past years, no, you only get one key so sharing is difficult.
