View Full Version : Ugh, facility charges = not applied to everyone the same

I clicked through to TM from the Coachella page via the button and my facility charges were $36. My friend just went directly to the TM page and was charged only $12 for facilities fees.

That sucks.

I went straight to TM and paid $36 for facilities, and $22 for "convenience".

Well, I guess my theory of why it happened could be incorrect, but definitely we paid 2 different amts for the same thing and I think it boils down to fees.

Yeah, I searched for coachella 3 day passes 3 times before They let me buy it for a total of $308...

Good god.
I got charged 19.65 for "ticketmaster service charge", 4 for "Ticketmaster Service Charge" then 9 for "Facility Fee"
Cost me 373.65 for a 3-day pass and a camping ticket

paganman7

Does anyone have an email address for ticketmaster's customer support? Their website is fucking impossible, plus I don't want to be charged a usage fee for browsing their website looking for an email address.

373.65 for a 3-day pass and camping ticket, too.
I had the same 9.00 facility fee, 19.65 tm service charge, 4.00 TM service charge.

I think the 19.65 one is for the 3-day pass, and the 4.00 one is for the camping ticket.
And the facility fee... have no idea. lol.

bptalk2
01-30-2009, 09:54 AM
hm...very strange.
here's my breakdown:
tix = 269
+facility = 12
+convenience = 22.20
total = 303.20

camping = 55
+convenience = 5.35
total = 60.35

+ processing fee = 5.10

for a grand total of 368.65 ...

BrettShipes
01-30-2009, 09:59 AM
He told me this is what I was charged:

Convenience 22.20
Facilities 12.00
Sales tax 24.45
Order processing 5.10

So... all together... with
3 day pass 269
camping 55

comes out to
$287.75

Which is odd because I'm 100% sure it said $36... and I'm also 100% sure that my confirmation email says $392.65

He told me what I was charged for and to have a good day.

BrettShipes
01-30-2009, 10:01 AM

I think the discrepancy is the tax being charged to California residents. Interstate transactions aren't taxed, while in state sales definitely are.

I got caught in the same snafu. I paid $332.30 for 3 day pass and my friend paid $308.30. I called TM within minutes of placing the order. The guy said that he couldn't "mess" with the facility charge so the only option was to cancel the order and repurchase. When he cancelled the order, TM still retained the $5.10 processing fee. I tried to argue with him and he said the change in facility charge isn't TM's fault. It's the fault of the venue. All I know is it's not my fucking fault. I suppose I should be happy that I got $19.40 back. TM fucking blows!!!

BrettShipes

So I paid:
392.65

My girlfriend who got the SAME EXACT THING I DID paid:

And ticketmaster is giving me the runaround... and has 3 times already.

I'M PISSED AND I WANT ANSWERS!

Being a member of The Killers' fan club (The Victims) has its perks. The fan club was allocated a few tickets at $281 each plus an $18 convenience fee=$299 per ticket plus $3 shipping. My brother and I are going for $601 total, in addition to camping passes bought through Ticketbastard.

I <3 The Killers :)

The snafu was a pain for canucks who paid by credit card - they were
charged one exchange rate on the initial purchase, and a lower exchange
rate on the refund. Still, the difference was less than the service charge
Ticketmaster would have kept if the order was cancelled.

any way to know which "random" fee you're going to get?

psychic friend

there is no random fee. they were accidentally charging 12 x 3 instead of x 1 on 3-day passes. so there should be $24 per 3-day passes if you were overcharged that. there were only over charges the first 20-30 minutes or so.

38.65 dollars in fee's and charges, there is no way that ticketmaster needs to charge me 19.65 for my purchase, also, it does not take 7 dollars to ships a 3 tickets that probably weigh less than half and ounce. Ticketmaster can blow me, so can Fedex, so can Indio Youth Task Force (sorry, if i had the choice to donate maybe i would, but since it's forced they can blow me as well)
