Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.

Those fees are seriously getting out of control.

westcoastpirate
01-30-2009, 09:07 AM
$70 in fees, that's ridiculous! That's more than 25% of the value of the ticket!

Sorry, did the math, over 23% of the ticket value, f-ing steep! What the hell?!

Remember when Pearl Jam played the polo fields back in the day because it was one of the few venues in the world that didn't suck the corporate cock of Ticketmaster? Whatever happened with that?

I know they can't offer their services for free, but fuck!

The sad part is that camping at Coachella isn't that expensive. Imagine 2 tickets plus a hotel each night.

You lucky fuckers!

I'm genuinely happy for people who can get them at Glasshouse. Not only do you save a couple of bucks, but you don't feed Ticketmaster's desires to anal rape everyone in sight.

Ugh, I had to do ticketfast because I forgot about ticketmaster's whole "will ship only to billing address bullshit", oh well.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, IF CAMPING, BUY THE TICKETS TOGETHER USING THE SHOPPING CART OPTION. You WILL save money.

3 day pass on it's own: 332.30
Total charge for 3 day pass with camping using the shopping cart: 369.65 (plus 2.50 for ticketfast if you get that option)

I had $175 in TM gift cards, so I had to deal with the monster. Made it only $150 for a 3 day, which works for me.

This is what it told me when I went to buy a 3 day pass the first time. Using ticketmaster.com, clicking on 3 day pass, nothing weird:

Ticket Price US $269.00
Convenience Charge US $22.20
Building Facility Charge US $36.00

Plus the order handling fee they tack on at the end.

3 day pass plus camping = $342. $31 LESS than doing layaway with a 3 day and camping combined.

But geez those fee's are pretty dire! Glad my ticket came at with thanks.

My tix cost me $659.50

It breaks down like this:

2 sets of three day passes: $538

Facility Charge (I hope this is for clean up and maintaining the polo grounds): $72 ($36 per set of tix, which is $12 a day)

Convenience Charge: $44.40 (may have been charged this due to accepting insurance on the tickets in case of illness, accident or what have you that would prevent going to the show, which is $6 per ticket, or $36 for all six tickets)

Order processing fee: $5.10

Sounds like some people paid more... how is that possible?

There was a programming glitch during the beginning of the on sale charging people the 3 day fac fee price X 3 instead of X 1. Refunds are being issued for the $24 difference for all accounts affected.

wow....with prices like this, at least I won't have to worry about the festival being overcrowded this year...or the need to rush to buy my tickets, either.

Kinda hard to sell my Coachella virgin friends on dishing out that amount of cash for this year's fest - all the one's that haven't gone before think I'm throwing my money away.

Are they sending out emails or some sort of notification about this? I was charged the $36 "facility fee" and it still shows it :(
Do I need to send them an email or call them and bitch?

My $22.50 Animal Collective ticket via livenation had ONE $9 fee but my $12 Asobi Seksu ticket via ticketmaster had $11.50 in fees. RAPE. Neither was with ticketfast and I used free standard mail delivery.

And I had my AC ticket in hand 5 days later. Ticketmaster tickets usually take a couple weeks.

livenation >> ticketmaster

I'm getting ready to call them also. I tried the customer service form, but it only regurgitates answers to frequently asked questions that don't closely relate to our specific issue. On the Ticketmaster website, it shows my total as $ 308...but my bank account still shows the $332 charge. Irritating

I'm going to wait until the incorrect charge ($659.50 vs $611.50) actually posts to my bank account before I fuss. Right now it's just pending.

Its about 100 pounds more than any other festival- ie the average uk price is 150 pounds. The price was ok before with a nice exchange rate (it worked out to 150 pounds) but now its rubbish (250 pounds).

well, the good thing about buying at an outlet is you don't have to wait for them in the mail ...some people on this board (at least it seemed that way last year) move around a lot and get shit lost in the mail or are as impatient to get their tix in the mail as they are for the lineup...just wait for the posts about "where's my tickets!?!?"
