HEY PSYCHIC FRIEND IS THE CRYSTAL METHOD LIVE OR DJ???!?! this is an important fact that must be clarified, though I'm sure if it was a dj set they'd have put it on the poster like they did for groove armada, especially since they're so well known from their live sets (ie. coachella dvd). At Pemberton festival they did a dj set, it was pretty sick, but yeah it was made very clear on the lineup that it was The Crystal Method (DJ Set) so i'm sure this time it's live... sick...
Is it just me or are they the only Sahara headliner this year?

They're hit or miss with me.

MSTRKRFT is my top Sahara act this year...so far.

It will be a Live Show and not a DJ set. They are doing a LIVE tour in April.

Several reports indicate TCM is using Coachella as the kickoff for their live tour supporting their new album due out May 12.

Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll be like Waters & Justice last year. Let Macca play from 9-11, then CM can close it out in the Saharah from 11-12:15 or whatever. Not necessarily likely as Chem Bros cachet isn't exactly massive right now, but possible.

(I definitely wouldn't expect them to play the mainstage like Chem Bros after Bjork in 2002 or Tiesto after RHCP though)

From what I've heard so far, the show I'm thinking about catching here in Reno, April 14th, will be a live set as well. I'm hoping to get a preview for their Coachella set and see if it'll kill some potential conflicts for me.

maybe they'll do what they did with waters/justice, wasnt a conflict at all...maybe ten minutes.

or they'll do what they did with JJ/Fatboy Slim.

For the love of god, please no conflict! I already missed Crystal Method last year at Pemberton. I CAN NOT miss them this time... but I also can not leave Paul MacCartney's set.

From Live Daily:

TCM's Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan are joined on the forthcoming set by She Wants Revenge frontman Justin Warfield, New Order bassist Peter Hook, Metric frontwoman Emily Haines, drummer Samantha Maloney (formerly of Hole and Peaches), Meiko, one-time Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle, The Heavy, and hip-hop up-and-comers LMFAO.

The album's first single, "Drown in the Now," features a collaboration with guest artist Matisyahu. "We met Matisyahu at a festival in British Columbia last July," Kirkland said in a statement. "His tour manager approached us about him joining us onstage ... and his performance was magical. From there we knew we wanted to work with him. He delivered something unique that helped create a great vibe for the rest of the album."

The Crystal Method will perform its first live show in five years April 17 at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in California. The duo also will be highlighting new material with an exclusive DJ set March 21 at La Zona Rosa in Austin, TX, during SXSW.

TCM plans to hit the road this spring for a major national tour in a band configuration.

I for one have never seen any of these acts. Live or DJ.

I haven't heard much of Groove Armada though. What's your favorite album?

I don't listen to much Groove Armada. They're very good, but a tad too "poppy" for me. Their album "Goodbye Country Hello Nightclub" is really good though. Superstylin' is an awesome tune. I started there and really liked it.

I first saw TCM live in '98 w/ about 200 other people at a small club in the AZ, BT opened for them and they were really really good.

The second time was when they opened for Orbital's '99 tour and they were still pretty good.

I saw them DJ in San Francisco for NYE '07 and they were just ok, though it was nice to hear some of their old songs in a club setting after so many years.

Oh yeah, Groove Armada is pretty cool.

It's been a while but I saw them live at the WMC in I think it was '97? and they weren't so good - seemed too high and had technical problems. I saw them after that can't remember where and they were quite good. Much better than the DJ set I saw.

i saw a live set of theirs in a club and when it closed down, not one person moved from the crowd. everyone was screaming for an encore like i've never seen before. even the gogo dancers. it was insanity. those 2 steamrolled the crowd.

then afterwards, they started spinning at the nearest fully nude strip club, a whole set of disco until 7 in the morning. those guys fucking RULE.

Crystal Method are the first DJs I've ever seen get forcibly removed from the decks by a club's mangement.

They were so fucked up and wrecking shit during a party last year at WMC that the club decided they'd rather have silence than let them play on.

They let Ken Jordan climbing over the DJ booth and face-planting go. They let it go that they kept fondling the ass of the female employee running sound for them. When they started putting their cigarettes out on the brand new equipment - game over.
