Girl Talk is worth checking out if you've never seen him live.

hell yeah girl talk rules. i want to hear the song where he takes a cheesy 80s jam and puts a biggie acapella over it. that one rules. also the one where it's like this black guy singing or whatever. rapping? is that what it's called? I donno, i mostely just listen to indie rock but girl talk is good for "rappings" and "dancings" LOL!!!!

its a big house party, he lets the stage flood with people and there's a great ratio for a sexy crowd

Anyone here from SD? If so, you have to know Scooter and Lavelle...they crush it.

I caught the end of his set in 07 and at the end he was like "see ya in the Chili Peppers pit!"...at that point I laughed and left. I will pass.

You're talking about Tiny Dancer/Juicy right ??

I'm a big fan of Girl Talk, missed his shows in LA a few months back. Sister went and came up with two cameras and a cell phone, because LA chicks are really, really, stupid.

And by LA chicks I of course mean, the ditzy bimbo mtv reality tv types, not all.

And by the random, LA concerts have at least 20% more suck because a bunch of dumbass rich tweens show up with their parents and ruin the vibe a good crowd should have by being on their cell phone and taking myspace pics the whole time. I wanted to go on a rampage during the Kanye concert in June, what the fuck kind of parent is ok with pulling that shit?!?

I was expecting more hate on this one. I caught part of it in 2007, and I'll probably check him out again. I think that "Feed The Animals" was much better than "Night Ripper."

I'd check him out. Sounds like fun. But holy shit, look at the retarded crowds he draws:

I doubt I will see him this year. Every festival that he has ever played that I can recall he was in a scheduling conflict he couldn't hope to win.

i saw GT in pontiac. the show was alrite, i mean a mashup artists can only be so good. Greg was full of energy as always, but what he does isn't talent. any immature drunk girl would like his show-that pretty much explains his skill.

girl talk is insane live, saw gregg twice. but i don't think i'm gonna go again if there's someone better at that time. it'll be a good time.

I still don't forgive Girl Talk for making me miss Mike Relm! I caught the end of Girl Talk, waiting for Mike Relm, and I didn't even know who Mike Relm was, my daughter wanted to see him. Girl Talk was so loud, raping my ears not in a good Daft Punk way but more like playing music to hurt terrorists way. I ended up leaving the tent and wandering around.

I am looking forward to his show...what is the show like for those that have seen it?

I was at APW '08 and his show was like one huge dance party/love fest. It was so much fun. There were tons of people on the stage, they were using toilet paper guns to unravel rolls of TP into the crowd, he crowd surfed on an inflatable mattress.... I walked away with a huge shit eating grin on my face and made my way over to meet my group to see Radiohead.

I saw him at the Henry Fonda Theater in LA and it was a huge disappointment. I think an outdoors festival is the only place to see him. The dark LA club atmosphere almost killed it for me, but I'm looking forward to the free spirited dance party I know he'll rock at Coachella :)

I tend to agree with you.... except not totally sure WHY you say see him once, that's it. I think the first time you see him (if at the right venue) is a fun novelty. It leaves you wanting more, but when you get it you may not be as into it as you were when it was brand new. Nonetheless, I think seeing him a 3rd time at Coachella will be fun, but I wouldn't pass up a more desirable act if that's what it comes down to.

He should do this with audiomulch. then it might be interesting.

dancE Electric
01-26-2009, 05:52 PM
he uses audio mulch...and no he does does play any of his cd's.he plays whatever he feels like.

please dont get you hopes up and decide to go to girl talk if someone else really good is playing in the adjacent tent...or any set for that matter

my advice..pop in jock jams on tape and throw on some low quality headphones
