Have no idea what made me think of them but I am pretty sure they did a small tour last year. Any word on what they have been up to? Did someone die recently? Just throwing another pointless thread out there that could possibly be cool.

You know I was just thinking about them. I just read they are putting up the finishing touches on a new studio album (produced by Todd Rundgren), which would be their 2nd album since the 2004 reunion. They actually played an odd "one-off" date in Dallas last April not part of any tour and I was kinda blown away how good they sounded. The original Dolls music was great but the new music was really good too.

Oh, and Arthur "Killer" Kane (original bassist) died in 2004, shortly after their reunion and the first handful of gigs they played. The only two original members are David Johannsen (aka Buster Poindexter) and Sylvain Sylvain. The current lead guitarist is Steve Conte (who is quite good) and the current bassist is Sami Yaffi, formerly of Hanoi Rocks.

I am pretty sure they did a show in Chicago at The Double Door as well.

I'm pretty sure their new album is terrible and Poindexter is on heroin.

Doesn't that usually make a band better?

yeah theres just not enough original members. I don't think they should play coachella even though I do love them a lot.

Yeah, the Dolls are could be a good bet.
They are actually putting together a new album with Todd Rundgren producing - as he did their first album.
