Seriously, what the fuck was that about? I waited all through Death Cab for fucking Cutie just to make sure I had a good spot for Kraftwerk and I didn't even have to. The crowd was fucking empty by the time they went on, and hardly anyone dancing when they played! :(

This happens every year. People try to say they were told by an insider and its never true. Lineup doesn't come out until mid late January. I also know its bullshit because my friend works for Heineken who sponsors the festival and they always find out the lineup before it comes out and its never until right before. Don't believe any fake poster or jerk off that claims they know for a fact the Killers are headlining (would rather watch flies fuck). It happens every fucking year!

If they played last, then it would be amazing.

People probably say Kraftwerk didn't work out well on the mainstage was because it wasn't totally dark and that was a disadvantage, but once it got dark I thought it was phenomenal. Therefore, Daft should play after the headliner on the main stage.

Speaking of which, who saw them at Vegoose when they played the main stage and how was it? (I think they did)

Daft at Vegoose was bad ass. It was main stage, headliner. So awesome.

agreed. but i like the "surround" sound of the sahara since speakers are all around the tent. The only way i'd want them mainstage coachella would be if there was a circle of speakers like what was in place for waters last year.

vegoose just didn't have a stage with speakers all the way around like the sahara, so mainstage was acceptable.

i would get to sahara as early as necessary to catch daft in the tent.

The tent is a much cooler vibe, just sayin...

Open air could be pretty amazing though. The Coachella stage isn't exactly your average ampitheater. The tent could get a bit annoying and cramped. The main stage sound is pretty fucking amazing and open air could be a great switch from 06'.

I'm all for Daft on the main the stage.

let me guess your favorite band is radiohead

HATER!

It doesn't have to do with who my favorite band is, it has to with facts.

That is heresy my friend. If you have ever seen them live you would not say this. If you have then you must be deaf.

I've seen them live twice and had a blast both times. They are still more overrated than Radiohead and if you knew more about music you would agree.

Daft Punk puts on a good show and gets you dancing but that's it. I love them for this reason.

No, it has to do with you thinking too much of your opinion.

Also, whenever someone mentions Radiohead live I always think of some fucker I know who wrote probably the worst essay I've ever read about seeing Radiohead live. It was terrible and made me want to not see any band live ever again, that's how poorly written his description of the show was.

So how much about music do we have to know about before we're enlightened to the "fact" that Radiohead are amazing and Daft Punk are overrated?

It's totally awesome if you like Radiohead. Not so much so if you kinda like them but aren't that into them.

How can I troll a thread about Daft Punk by telling the honest truth about Radiohead? Just because you don't agree with me doesn't mean I'm trolling.

Honestly, I can see why people like Radiohead, I listen to them sometimes myself, but they aren't the end all be all of music. They just got lucky by incorporating the influence of some lesser-known (to the general public at the time) IDM artists into their music and made a career out of it.

HOLY SHIT YOU'RE RETARDED. What are The Bends and Ok computer then? IDM would not be were it is today if it wasn't for Kid A.

I laugh at myself, because threads like this have come and gone and I don't give two fucks about them, but one of them comes on here, with no more or less credibility than anyone else, but because they are talking about Daft Punk, I get all hopeful and excited.
If it is true,
I will have no words.

that's all. everyone is comparing them to musicians and they are not. i'm arguing both sides. i love daft punk for the show they put on... i love radiohead for the music. i know that many do not enjoy radiohead but it's apples to oranges here.

Seeing Radiohead live is completely different than seeing daft punk live. Daft play smaller venues and normally smaller venues are way better then the stadiums.
