In the first verse he references 'Assam' (India) and Saigon (Thailand). The 'neon tiger' or protagonist seems to be from eastern Asia. Referring to them as a tiger--a common and stereotypical animal from both those regions--becomes natural, too easy quite frankly. Neon? The Killers are based in Vegas, one of the most neon cities in Western culture. And many modern Asian metropolises are known for their insane neon signage. See: Tokyo.

The rest is a brief plea for the protagonist not to sell out to the sensationalism and greed of western culture so prevalent is places like Las Vegas.

"Flamboyant" is the understatement of the year.

I saw them down here at their own show and it was so mindblowing! The music was a blend of catchy pop tunes, dance music and crazy psychedelic trippyness. Almost every song had costume changes, props, a screen in the back with awesome colors and images and back up dancers. It was amazing, dude. Fucking AMAZING

The Beastie Boys were my first major music love, above anything. My friends were annoyed at how much I loved them. The posters on my walls, the cd's I that I always had playing, to bragging to everyone that I got to see them in concert when I was 15. Hello Nasty got stuck in the cd player of my first car and it was on infinite repeat for almost 3 months before I got it fixed, again my friends were annoyed. I have (maybe had now) the whole catalog memorized and was a frequent poster on beastieboys.com back in like 1998 as well. I remember having tickets to the canceled Rhyme or Reason Tour with Rage Against the Machine which was supposed to happen in 2000? I was crushed when it was canceled, but I got to see them again at the Red Rocks...I still love the B-Boys but I'm going to go take a look at Tool. I have the Hollywood Bowl Show and OSL if I want some more B-Boy's in my concert scene.

The bits and pieces of the closest thing they have to art are there... and not really as trippy as the stuff you see in Coachella, but I suppose that depends on what you're on. I only saw some of it during 2007 (I didn't bother in 2008 -- it's really out of the way of the path to the stages):

It was back in 2007, the first time I attended. I signed up for one of those rooms w/ "private bath" which is really just 4 rooms (a pair of bunk beds in each) sharing a common area and bathroom. Bring shower slippers.

I don't recall a bean, but the fountain's in the middle of the entrance. Actually that's part of the entrance, you can't go all around it because the front part is roped off (I guess for people who want to see it, but not enter the festival).

VIP is a bit of a joke at festivals. If you want to go and feel special then by all means, but it seems to take away from experiencing the music. The roped off section is always super far from the stage with a questionable sight line. Lolla is no different.

No, Lolla does not have any art installations. It does offer Grant Park and The Chicago Skyline. Both of which are pretty impressive to those who have the sense to stop and appreciate them. Apparently you didn't notice the flower beds in the middle of the walkway.

It's a walk, but you never really notice it. We walked several blocks back to our hotel each night, to boot. It's really not that bad, guys. You're on the go a lot, bouncing between main stages and side stages and food vendors and the hammock areas and the electronic stage, etc. Rarely do you just walk straight from the Bud Light to the AT&T stage (or at least, that's the case for me).

You're young, you've done Coachella, you're staying in air conditioning and a bed each night. Nothing to worry about.

Yeah, the walk isn't far. The only thing that's annoying is the bottle necking that occurs because of the landscape at Grant Park but the distance is not that big of a deal.
