Newbie - help me with the Music

I know it's a big task, but would any music aficionado like to help me by telling me which bands are what type of music? I only know like 5-10 of the bands that are listed. I'm planning on going but I want to know which bands are probably to my liking so I can seek out their music ahead of time and find out if I like them or not and if so, get to know their music a bit before I see them live. I'm looking for categories like:

Rock, Metal, Rap, Chill hip hop, Trance, House, Indie Rock, etc... a short description for each band would be awesome... I'm sure I'm not the only one it would be helpful for. Thanks in advance!!!

Do you have a MyS? If you don't have one, get one.

There is a MyS group with all of the band's pages (with music) listed [only a few are not on MYS]. Here it is ...

You can listen to songs there. Some bands (The Decemberists) have more than others (Ratm).

Still, my recommendation is to punch the bands into iTunes and see what you like and what you don't like.
