The Killers had a decent thing going for them when they were on the lineup in 2004 in mini print on the poster. They are one of the lamest bands on earth as of now...and to headline a festival makes me want to vomit in my mouth...and I am surprised I haven't seen anyone else say anything on the matter for all signs are pointing towards them to be the festival headlining whore's this year. If they headline Saturday night, like they're perfectly presumed to according to their schedule,...please put the Chemical Brothers in the tent at the same time as them..,to fill the gap that is full of Killers shit. God help us

Maybe when you're older, you ll have real problems to deal with and will learn to deal with these issues like a normal person. If a band possibly headlining a festival makes you sick, then you should definitely get to a doctor ASAP. Pussy.

First off...I am older...second off as a musician, I am very concerned as to who will be headlining Coachella and third off "vomiting in my mouth" is a figure of speech you jack ass. I am sorry you have real problems to deal with in your cubical but I decided to take the artistic route and not give two fucks about things you call "real problems." I will stand my ground...The Killers headlining Coachella on Saturday night this year as opposed to Prince headlining that day last year does in fact steer me the wrong way and to not agree with me just goes to show how lame your taste in music is. You should of just agreed as opposed to being the "Dad" on the message board who claims that there are "real problems" as opposed to The Killers headlining. You are in a Coachella message board you fuck...go talk about your "real problems" to someone who cares. Thanks :)

Geee, maybe if you complain enough Goldenvoice will see the error of their ways and tear up the contract they already have with The Killers to headline. And maybe Jews and Palestinians will dance naked in the streets of Gaza together drinking Coke and singing "We Are The World."

There ain't gonna be another Rage Against The Machine or Radiohead performance at Coachella this year. It's time to move on. At least wait until the lineup is announced before you start bitching and whining.

dude, like it or not the Killers are a pretty big band. I saw them last month and they played a solid hour of hit singles. Not many bands can do that.

They don't even have an hour of hit singles.

And about 200 bands could do that.

Yeah, and remember when BlackStarr went on after the headliner and the majority of people had left? They closed out the stage but they did not headline. Not to say that they weren't good, because they were, but they weren't the headliners.

Why would you as a musician be any more concerned as to who headlined Coachella than a non-musician?

Well, for instance a non-musician goes because they still enjoy listening to music and watching performances. Anyone who goes that is a musician outside of coachella goes for the same reasons but they're also there to get inspired and learn from top artist around the world...so that when musicians go home they are inspired to write tons of new songs. The Killers just wont do that for me unfortunately...but it wont keep me from going...because just like Fat Boy Slim playing at the same time as Jack Johnson last year...maybe the Chemical Brothers will be playing during The Killers :)

No its not.

How did you do this exactly. Oh, and thank you for expressing concern for my problems. Means the world. Thank you, boo.

..The Killers headlining Coachella on Saturday night this year as opposed to Prince headlining that day last year does in fact steer me the wrong way and to not agree with me just goes to show how lame your taste in music is.

1) I never said I liked The Killers.
2) My only concern was for your well being. I just dont want you to puke in your mouth.
3) According to Rolling Stone, "Coachella Organizers have pledged not to sign high-cost headliners like 2008's Prince and Roger Waters. - "It was getting out of control, we're as price conscious as we have ever been".

"Similarly, all the top festivals, including Bonnaroo, Coachella and Lollapalooza will freeze prices at 2008 levels, according to promoters"

They can't get Prince-sized headliners this year. Wait until next year. In the meantime, go express your artistic whatever, mannnn....

You should of just agreed as opposed to being the "Dad" on the message board who claims that there are "real problems" as opposed to The Killers headlining.

My point is that the people who are saying the Killers can't possibly headline seem to be saying so out of personal preference. Right now the Killers are big enough to headline, like it or not. If Tool is big enough, if Bjork is big enough, if Coldplay is big enough then so are the Killers.

Who cares if the Killers play? There are 4 other stages of music. Last year, the main stage was visited only thrice by me. Meanwhile, I spent most of my time in the Sahara Tent. If the Killers play, that just means less people rocking out to LCD or Chem Bros. or whomever they get to play at the same time. Regardless, someone cool will play in their stead.

Sincerely,

Not to start a 'who is bigger' argument, but you cant compare the accomplishments of The Killers to that of Coldplay or Tool or Bjork. Thats just retarded.
The Killers are working on their first major headlining trek of their career. The other bands you mentioned have been doing it for over a decade.

Yeah human is such a stupid song but listen to dustland fairytail and you will realize that they are a much better option then coldgay.

I'm not looking for a who's bigger argument either, and you're right; Tool and Bjork had long careers that built up to their headlining spots, but neither of them has been particularly huge as far as the mainstream is concerned. As for Coldplay, I'd say that the Killers are now about on par with how successful Coldplay was when they headlined (minus the grammy's and what not). It's not about quality, I'm just saying you can't go 45 minutes without hearing the Killers on the radio. It wouldn't be a huge coup or anything, but this year, right now, the Killers have the popularity to headline a major festival assuming the rest of the line up is solid.

I just confirmed that they are in fact big enough to headline.

Went to amazon.com to see their 4 albums (i thought it was 3), selected "Music" from the pull down list, typed "the" and "the killers" was first on the list of suggestions.

I don't like it, but I think they're our Saturday headliner.
