I would say definitely Underworld. But then any other electronic artist (Bar Daft Punk again) is probable..As much as it kills me I think Thom Yorke is the least probable option..But then again we DID have Madonna last year...So anything is possible..

I actually think Gwen is real likely - she has a gap in her tour dates that would work with Coachella. I don't care to see her and her Phoenix Date is 4/28 - then UT on 4/30. That could happen.

i don't think mars volta broke up. as far as I know Omar said the new (what the fuck? didn't they just do one?) album is wrapping up and they'd be touring again in march... and I can't find anything that contradicts that.

I only count 8/32, 14/40 and 8/38 for 27% total. That doesn't strike me as that much for repeats but I'll leave it for someone else to count up previous years. But, I mean, Coachella looks for the same types of bands year after year and they're gonna get used up.

And yeah, those are rough, quick counts. I counted quasi-repeats in the repeats column (The Good the Bad and the Queen count as a repeat because of Damon, etc)

I agree it's highly unlikely, but they are recording in LA... so it's technically possible. I mean they've been known to take breaks and they've got enough unreleased material where they don't have to pull a "We Are Scientists" and say it'll interupt their writing groove.

The chances are really, really slim though.

Modest Mouse are playing shows in Boston on the 27th and New York on the 29th so there is a Very Very remote possibility that they could fly all the way to indio and back to play on saturday...
If anybody gets added to saturday it will prolly be djs though, as there are hardly any...
Also I think it safe to say that if a band is headlining Lollapalooza, they would probably get burnt at the stake for a secret performance at Coachella, as the two are essentially arch-nemeses...
SOOO I think its pretty safe to say that modest mouse is the LEAST plausible addition. don't get me wrong, i love them, but i cann't understand why people actually think this is a possibility?

I saw them at Street Scene.. Terrible! Absolutely horrible. You couldn't hear the lead singer. Had to leave. Opted to see Sean Paul instead, had to smoke a lot to get into it, smoked so much I forgot what I was doing, wasn't even mine, just gave a guy a lighter.. lost my friends ended up with some mean scatches on my back made by who knows, thougt I was dying, thought the same thing kept happening over and over.. when I finally got myself out of my funk I missed Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the first few songs of Tool, shins almost ruined my life.... No they havent. Omar has just been working on a solo album. He is busy promoting that right now.
Also, the Mars Volta just played a couple shows at the end of March. They will also have a new album out before the end of the year. I was really pulling for the Mars Volta this year, but its not gonna happen. My hopes for Tom Waits and Primus have also died...
Right now im hoping for The B-52s and QOTSA!

Also, I thought Pendulum votes would have skyrocketed by now. Considering the new Bassrush stage and it almost being garunteeed they will be their. Whether its a live set or DJ set, they will likely be their. Im hoping for a live set. But thats not very likely.
