hey guys, just thought i'd let you know about this email my friend just sent me:

"Up at my art school here in L.A., i saw flyers hanging up everywhere asking for music students to come audition for an upcoming spring concert. The flyer asked for musicians proficient in the works of David Bowie. It also says that knowledge of the Ziggy Stardust catalog required..."

just thought this was interesting

it may have something to do with this Rolling Stone article that came out a couple of days ago: http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/01/13/british-press-blame-david-bowie-for-recession-we-clear-ziggy-stardusts-good-name/

aphex twin circa 2008 much?

My thoughts exactly. Although, Aphex Twin did end up being added, although not with a live drummer.

And I like how the 2008 guy was totally lying (cause there was no drummer), but the Twin showed up anyway!

Bowie doing only Ziggy?...no way this happens. He's sixty-two for christ sake. If he did play he'd mix it up with songs from his vast catalogue, but I'm pretty sure he is retired from live performances due to health issues and age. 99% sure Bowie won't be anywhere near Coachella.

I especially love how this guy posted this yesterday in another thread, and then decided to start a new thread today, quoting himself, and acted like it was a big shock that he just found out. FAIL.

I imagine he would pay some other songs after Ziggy Stardust.

I wonder if Bowie can still fit into those tight ass pants. In the video you see 3 people helping him put them on! I think it is one of the funniest parts of the movie.

The Ziggy Stardust Motion Picture? Yeah, he had lots of wardrobe help. Mick Ronson on 'Moonage Daydream' was sooo great...solo sounded like a pack of screaming neon seagulls breaking thru an astral plane. If you're arsed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGWYGR3xy2Y

I would rather he play all of Low or something. He hasn't had the Ziggy voice for years so I woudn't want to see him try to do the whole album in order.

Ok I got it.... Daft Punk plays a set , right?
Then...halfway through, after "Humaaaaaaaaaan After Aaaallllll" they take off their masks to reveal they are actually David Bowie & Paul McCartney! Then Fred Durst comes on and is like, "Did it all for nookie...."

Fans of David Bowie are hopeful that he will return to the festival after agreeing to headline this year's Coachella festival in Palm Springs in the US.
He cancelled T in the Park in 2004, due to life-saving heart surgery.
But Geoff ruled out the chance of the pop legend coming to Balado this summer.
He said: "We'd love to have David Bowie back. I'm not holding out anything for this year.
"It won't be 2009, but it's great he's back and doing shows."
