Truly Fantastic show last night at Alexís Bar in LB. Kirkwood still lays it down on the rock guitar. Another Great 90ís rock band. And by the way, one a phenomenal double bill awhile back, down in Solana Beach with Built to Spill.
What are the chances they play 09?

I saw Meat Puppets with Built to Spill last year at the Fillmore in San Francisco and it went down as the most boring, uninspired show of the year for me. Snoooooze.

I saw them open for Nirvana. A triple bill with Boredoms opening for them. Halloween night of the In Utero tour in Akron. What a memorable evening.

Pee Wee Herman's Hermits yr name is unbelievably awesomely epic. Welcome to the board. Yes I am sincere. That screen name rulez. No I've never complimented another member on their name cause it wasn't warranted. & yeah I feel a bit of a creeper for doing so so please excuse.

& I fully support Meat Puppets for 2012. Those guys are road warriors and legends as far as I'm concerned. They did build a fraction of SST's success & they should be paid homage & be exposed to the new generations comin up.

Some of you might also like Chris's son Elmo Kirkwood's band, Kirkwood-Dellinger: http://www.myspace.com/kirkwooddellinger

It's really chill quirky experimental pop or something??? There's something about it I really like when I'm coming down.

Real 90s sound to them. They actually sound EXACTLY like something but I cant figure it out and it's bothering the hell out of me...the song on their myspace page called "Mother's Claw" sounds a bit like "Run Run Run" by Phoenix - or maybe I'm just hung up on that...or maybe it's They Might be Giants meets Meat Puppets meets early Phoenix meets Ween...I can't put my finger on it.

Anyway, according to Kirkwood Dellinger's facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kirkwood-Dellinger/132143476302), they have a new band called Flamingo, and they're actually opening up for Meat Puppets on this tour...

So I'll see them next week. There's something about it I really like too.

Saw them Saturday at CMV. They were great. Played a variety of tunes spanning a good deal of their career, including from their new album "Lollipop." I think they would be a great addition to the 2012 line-up.

Now I know how Flamingo got on the bill. Thanks icedKeg.

They were great Thursday night at the Echo. Played for about 80 minutes and finished the set with Sloop John B --> Lake of Fire.

They played our venue here in Durango last week - not only did they kill it with an amazingly loose and psychedelic set which melted our little towns face off, but I had the honor to sit in the green room with The Kirkwood Brothers and talk about them recording Lake of Fire, their love for Justin Timberlake and Miley Cyrus and touring with Nirvana and Blind Melon - all of which is a moment I will never forget. Thank God I was sober. BOOOOK THEM!!! But you better not give them a fuckin' 1pm Sunday Mojave set GV!
