Ah how how I miss the Coachella Ticketmaster page. I always build up a years worth of rewards points on my credit card and use it toward buying a Coachella 3-day pass. If the prices go up again this year I'll be disappointed.

Fuji Rock tickets are not increasing this year, thankfully. But at around $400 they were already incredibly high.

I'm relieved that the tickets are through ticketmaster. I know that they're fucking bastards, but the thought of the tickets being through duckatking or straight from AEG would've been highly unfortunate. (xmas gift from girlfriend was ticketmaster gift certificates for coachella tix)

Ardentbiscuit

It wouldn't have mattered if they had used Ducat King for the presale...

The year of the presale they still did the main on sale with ticketmaster.

same situation for me too....ticketmaster $$$ was my #1 response when asked what i wanted for Xmas this year and i think i managed enough to pay for the whole ticket!

You could in the future ask for cash, the universal gift certificate so you don't have to worry where the tickets go on sale.

With Livenation and the MLB pulling their useage of ticketmaster soon I don't expect them to be around much longer.

And ticketmaster still crashes for big concerts. Their servers and phone lines can't handle huge purchase surges.

they're actually going to have a post-sale this year. two weeks after the on-sale they will have a limited number of tickets that we need personal passwords for, and it will cost us more than regular tickets.

Reminds me of that $999 app. on the iPhone that did absolutely nothing, but you could show off to your friends and prove that you were ridiculously rich (or stupid).

This could be a way for GV to make extra money and people can show off to their friends that they are true coachella fans or something...

Speaking of iPhones, it would be a great idea for GV to develop an iPhone app. the possibilities are endless!

QFT.

At home, my music can be entirely controlled via the Apple Remote app. I can select songs/playlists, choose which speakers to play (my Mac, living room, bedroom, backyard, or any combination). I've surprised a few friends with how easy and convenient it is to control my music from my phone.

She did say they have no idea when the line up is going to be anounced. That doesn't mean it won't come out on Monday, or wednesday or anytime next week.

She basically said she would rather give no date at all for the time being, then to give a date and then have to go back and change it. She also added something along the lines of, "You think your frustrated, try being on the other end of things."

Im still hoping for a monday surprise.....

Ardentbiscuit
01-17-2009, 01:20 PM
They should release it the week of the 19th regardless if they think it's a good idea or not. Sure Monday is MLK jr. day and Tuesday is the inauguration.

So if they don't announce it next week, What then?

January 26th, we can't do it then, it's Australia Day and Chinese New Year.

And then February 2nd, comes around, we can't do it then, it's Ground Hog's Day. The Ground Hog could curse Coachella.

And on and on...

Just give us the line up...the festival is earlier so we at the very least we need it around the same date as last year.

Thanks!

Yes. Between the ticket site removal and the lack of major artist leaks, this is definitely becoming interesting. The longer we wait, the more I think that we are in for something special.
