well here are some thoughts on some groups who people want added:

The Police: big announcement monday. i dont see it having anything to do with coachella. i think they have their own agenda and are gonna rake in the dollars so they dont need or probably want coachella. it would be nice, but i dont see it happening. chances: 15 percent

Prince: this could be longshot but it would fit the madonna type vibe they brought last year. prince is in vegas so he is close to indio. he could play the sahara tent or be moved to headline friday. prince does things his way so he could or could not. its a pipedream but it is out there... chances 30 percent.

Nine Inch Nails: the only way i could see them performing is if they want to a special gig in the sahara tent or something different than the main stage. album timing is there. but its doubtful. chances 20 percent

David Bowie: he was on alot of people's wishlist but it just doesnt look good at all mayb next year. chacnes 10 percent.

foo fighters: could we see a special acoustic set somewhere? maybe... chances 35 percent.

Incubus: another longshot but could be added. but they might be too mainstream to not headline and still play. chances 20 percent

Eminem: this could be one of those last min additions. would be interesting and he says he is ready to come back out so we shall see. chances 35 percent.

personally the lineup is strong but if they want to add some bands just to add them, hey on top is some that i think would be compelling. we shall see! :)

...and people ripped on Fall Out Boy. I wouldn't want any of these snoozers being added, personally.

How about Menomena, Modest Mouse or the Smashing Pumpkins? That would get me excited.

I'd say the only one of these bands that have a remote chance are The Police, and even that is extremely low. The rest are 0%.

you know what's funny though? while reunion tours are raking in the cash the last few years or so, i have a feeling sting and co. might end up overplaying their hand just a wee bit here. was anyone really clamoring for a police reunion? no. is the catalog THAT large? no. are they a great band with solid songs? well yes, of course. but a lot of people really just don't seem to like sting now for some reason. i'm not saying they won't make money, i just don't think they're going to make rolling stones money, at least not in the states. they'll clean up overseas though.

i wouldn't count on david bowie ever playing coachella. he has his own fest in new york.

My main concern about the Police is, are they still any good??

And are they going to just be them on tour or are they going to add more musicians for the tour??

Smashing Pumpkins are a good band but a TERRIBLE live band.

HAHAHAHHA TOO TRUE. 84.78% of the time there is no validity to the numbers, like how do you associate a numeber to a gut feeling.

Although I do liek the thought of the FOO showing up.

Check out this article I found. David Bowie is not playing the Highlining only hosting it..

01.22.2007 NEWS: HIGHLINE FESTIVAL UPDATE

Due to ongoing work on a new project, David Bowie has announced that it will not be possible for him to perform at the Highline Festival in May. He will however continue to curate the event alongside Highline producers David Binder and Josh Wood.

Further announcements relating to the festival line up will be made shortly.

You percentage doesn't fall into the made up statistics category. It is a true fact that I'll be disappointed that Man Man isn't there. 100%.

I could see NIN in a tent. Their shows in smaller venues are much better than in arenas/amphitheatres. If he worked with Clouser and Atticus Ross on this new album it makes sense.

In my opinion, not one of those acts has a chance whatsoever.

Modest Mouse is totally doable-they're starting to tour but the whole month of April is open.

It will be the biggest reunion tour ever. There are millions of police fans who have been dreaming of a reunion, but it's pointless to be vocally supportive of something that until recently seemed completely unrealisitic due to the trouble the band had getting along.

Top three countries where the police will score - US, Japan and Canada.

Have you seen Stewart Copeland's Everyone Stares movie? Asia creamed their collective pants over the Police... if they make to that part of the world I expect a repeat.

Yeah, the Japanese rock fans have really turned around.

The used to be very quiet and polite, but now they're fucking insane.

I saw U2 in Tokyo three times last December, and nearly got crushed to death every night.... for U2.

If The Police ever make it over to Japan, people will die.

I'm just stunned that Fall Out Boy were mentioned in the same breath as The Police, Prince, NIN, Bowie and Eminem, with the implication that they'd be better in the lineup. That's too fuckin' funny for words.
