I personally would not want The Smiths to reunite Coachella, because wouldn't that be the big act? After that I'm not sure if there would be a chance for Bowie, or Zeppelin, or other greats... this is just my personal preference, I'm not exactly sure how the booking of artists actually goes, but what do you guys think? What are your thoughts on the Smiths reuniting for Coachella and possibly ruining any chance of other greats we would want.

I would like both, but its no contest, Bowie all the way (sory amy)

But ever since I read that article on the rumored smiths coachella reunion I have been getting intense flashes of the band on the mainstage and it just seems so perfect. I have this one image of morrissey on the big jumboscreen that just feels right.

BOWIE!

Bowie would just make this years Coachella for me, I don't think theres anyone else I would rather see.

I've tried to get more into the Smiths but theres just something about it I really don't like. If they did get added to the bill however, I can't really complain... Even though I'm not that into them its still the fucking Smiths.

well the smiths are better than zeppelin by far. I would rather have the smiths than the other two but bowie is a very close second. zeppelin is not even on the list of bands i want to headline

Speaking of Bowie, I stumbled upon a most excellent DB sticker whilst ambling downtown today, that fits perfectly behind the bridge of my Telecaster! I'm so excited!

Someone just email the Bowie fan site and ask if he's headlining or not. Last year, his denial was pretty straightforward on that site

Bowie for sure over the Smiths. I'm not sure I would want to see them after so many years, but Bowie could still rock the polo field.

Would definitely want Bowie over the Smiths. Bowie's music changed my life years ago. Never even heard of The Smiths til I joined this forum, and to be honest, I'm not really impressed with their music.

Did we really need another topic for this? The half-dozen "THE SMITHS ARE PLAYING THIS YEAR!!" threads were already idiotic enough.

Bowie vs The Smiths...that's a toughie. I guess it depends on what Bowie plays. What I most want is a Pulp reunion, but that wouldn't headline.

Having seen Bowie already. I would choose The Smiths.

I am just not a bowie fan.....I would still come watch him with you (if there were no conflicts of course). I was watching live aid on vh1 the other day and he was on there.....boring

sbessiso

I understand. I'm doubtful there would be many conflicts during Bowie, they should just get enter shikari again or whatever that band was that played during Prince

I am going to be honest here. I love Bowie and I mean I truly love his work and all of his stuff bar some of the mid 80's crap. But I saw Bowie when he did the Moby touring festival Area2 and it was...ok. Not spectacular. So, while I think his set at Coachella would be amazing. Give the choice I would choose The Smiths.

only Marr said no this time around. I haven't heard a rebuttle from the others yet. That and I won't believe it until the line up comes out.

I was logging in and for my user name I typed in The Smiths and tried to enter my password. I guess my vote for Bowie vs. The Smiths goes to Moz and crew

morrisey alone would be better than reuniting the smiths... as you said i could eliminate the Bowie possibility or something bigger...

What did Marr say specifically, Marco?

TeamCoachellaHellYeah
11-01-2008, 08:20 AM
Marr didn't say anything. His manager said the reunion news is "rubbish". And he is the only one to have responsed to the whole thing. Morrissey hasn't said a thing...

I've been hearing a lot about a Replacements reunion that fell through last year because it was last minute, but they could be there this year. Probably a main stage post-sunset slot like the Jesus and Mary Chain in 07.
