In 2009?

I hope. Long overdue.

Have they ever played Coachella?

I was looking forward to them at Sasquatch. BOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRIIIIIIIING. It was like listening to their albums on a slightly higher volume. Yes, they play well... but it really wasn't interesting to watch, there was no life. Even they looked bored playing their own music.

10-25-2008, 01:06 PM
Nope, never played.

they were so much fun at atp. people didn't want to leave after their set, so they came back to play for like 20 more minutes.

i would see them again anytime.

Like rage said, I hear they're like Weezer live. Judging but orbit's post though, maybe they're hit or miss.

I've got to say I've seen BTS 6 times (4 times in clubs/solo shows, 2 festival appearances) and they are one of my favorite live bands, they could put on a hell of a set at Coachella

I would support this. Never seen them.

Don't you DARE compare Built to Spill to Weezer. No matter the circumstances. I've seen BTS twice live and yes, it's not much of a 'show' in the sense that it's not that fun to watch, but they play all their best songs live (Car, Carry the Zero, Fly Around My Pretty Little Miss, Randy Described Eternity, Time Trap, Broken Chairs, Strange, In The Morning etc etc etc). I would love to see them at a festival.

"Randy Described Eternity" to close the night on the Outdoor Theatre would be epic.

Seen 'em twice, and they were awesome both times. Yes for '09.

Rage, that must have just been a bad show for them...

Maybe it was bad show. I did talk to a couple other people at Sasquatch about the set though. One guy saidit was the third time he'd seen them, and it was the final time he was giving them a chance. Other people I talked to did say that they have seen much better sets. A guy I went with who was REALLY stoked to see them was disapointed to. So yeah, they must be a hit and miss band.

I love 'em, but they really don't seem like a festival band

This is the year. I'm calling it now.

saw them this year, and was really looking forward to them, but the sound wasn't very good and they were simply not interesting...

Wow, really? I saw em last year. Sound was amazing and they were super interesting.

I Hope you're right. I heard I missed a great show in Tempe a couple months back.

Saw them without knowing anything about 'em, here at the University a couple of years ago. Great show! Usually I can't get into it without knowing the songs, but they were great. Will definitely check out, if both them and I are at Coachella '11.

The weezer comparison up above is so unfair. Maybe they have off nights, but has Weezer ever had an "on" one? I haven't seen it.
