First timer. Anyway I was wondering how lenient the security is when a fight breaks out. I have a friend who gets extremely beligerent when he gets drunk so I'd like to know.

Last thing I want happening is for all of us to get kicked out because he tried to jam his fist into some innocent dude's face.

hmmm...how about you guys pull over at a rest stop for him to take a pi$$, and then when he's going, all hop back in the car and drive to the show?

ORRRRRRRRR....

Don't let him get drunk.

I've been 4 years, and never seen a fight either ... thing I like about west coast shows over east coast shows ... west coast folks smoke more, they're more clam ... east coasters drink more, and fight more.

As for leniency ... sorry hoss, if your friend fights, I hope he gets the boot. Let's be an adult for 3 days ... eh?

I start fights all the time at Coachella. Usually, I start by stepping on the back of people's shoes until they're like "DUDE" and I'm like "Yeah?" and they're like "Dude." and I'm like "You wanna go?"

Nah, fuck that. If your boy hits anyone and I am around, I hope his ground game is up to par. I'll be the one shooting, mounting, and choking him unconscious. One of the things I hate most is a belligerent individual assaulting someone who hasn't done anything.

i used to do concert security and its prety simple. get caught fighting and ur out... get stupid with the staff/ they will take down your id info and over the walkie talkies will alert that you are not allowed in anymore. i think fri and sat will be fine. sun might find some assholes wanting to let some aggression out cuz mommy didnt hug em enough. i stay out of it but i have gotten into it before but only when some drunk fuck is pushing his way around and then shoves my wife. probably by mistake but sorry, bad move......

Hell in 4 years I've never seen anyone drunk at Coachella. The way they have it set up, it's almost impossible. You can ONLY drink inside the Heineken Tent, and you can't really catch the music from there. If you drink = you miss the music. You catch the music = you miss the drink. It's actually quite brilliant.

But ditch the friend, he sounds like an asshole anyway.

Some guy tried to start $hit with my brother last year. Admittedly my bro was pretty drunk, and accidentaly bumped into the guy, but this dude was sitting on the ground in a crowded tent...stuff happens. Anyway, when the guy saw me & my people were gonna back my bro up, he stopped talkin' $hit. But yeah...keep it peaceful...we all paid a lot of $$ to go to this show...be a shame to get kicked out.

Tell your friend to hang out in the beer tent, then meet him after the show. If you don't find him then he got escorted out by security for being a drunk prick or he got his ass kicked and who knows where he is.

Just be careful and limit his drinking. Maybe buy him a water. I dont wanna run into your buddy if he's lookin' for a fight. I dont pick fights, but I do know myself pretty well, and I'm definately more "fight" than "flight." It doesnt matter that I cant afford to get arrested OR kicked out of Coachella. I know what will happen if someone socks me.

Seriously though, I've been to almost every single Coachella(minus 99), and have never seen a fight. Someone posted earlier that the heat will kick his ass before he has a chance to get trashed and start something. Very true, and I would be more worried that he will suffer heatstroke and blackout. Hydrate, my friends! I love to drink on occasion, and I have never been to the point of "drunk" at a Coachella. Mostly because there are way better things to do than sit in a beer tent all day, but also because I sweat out the booze so fast, I can't catch a buzz. Damn you 6 $ beers! You are worthless!

Welcome to festivals in the US. Where beer drinkers are caged. Alsmot got outta hand last year if I remember correctly, because security would only let so many people into the beer garden at one time...people were pushing & shoving...got kinda nasty. Some people almost got trampled or crushed against the fence. I got the hell outta there.

There were def fights at the first coachella. Sunday especially. Go Tool and Rage. Since then I have only seen one. In the Sahara tent. I was a about 30 yards in back of it. Only a couple of pushes and then some punches that didnt really connect and then some wrestling. The uniformed COPS in the show were actually on it quickly and both dudes got cuffed and taken in. Was quite glad.

Man guys fighting is fun! Clearly you have never been to punk shoes. People don't beat the shit out of each other because of Agro or whatever. It's just how they express love for eachother. If you see three dudes with mohawks kicking the shit out of each other at the JAMC set, let them be. It's how they enjoy music.

That said, suckas step up to me they gonna get knocked down.

Clearly, you are going to incredibly shitty punk shows. A mosh pit is not a fight. Mosh pits are simply people shoving a bouncing off of each other. I was ever at a show in a bar and I saw people throwing elbows or punches in the pit, you better believe they're getting a bottle over the head. It's unnecessary. If you need to fight to enjoy much (even if you dont NEED to, but still do), you are a pitiful, pitiful man.

Now on to the mohawks. If I EVER see three guys walking together with mohawks, I will just point and laugh. A mohawk is a punk rock haricut (the punk rock mullet as far as I'm concerned). One of the ideals of punk is individuality. There's nothing I hate more than a group of losers walking around, all with mohawks, wearing leather jackets with studs and tight jeans. They lower the credibility of good punk rock. Go to you're fucking Good Charlotte show and shut the fuck up.
