View Full Version : QUEEN ft. PAUL RODGERS
Coachella Bound

So i thought Queen was long gone...... but I guess not. I made it out to the movies last night and to my surprise came a preview of this.

Apparently they're touring Europe right now with Paul Rodgers, ex frontman of Free and Bad Company. Theyve also put out a cd.
With all this being said what does the mighty board think?
I personally wouldnt be opposed to an appearance @ COACHELLA 09.......

it's not Queen, it's "Queen". I don't care if its the original band. I just dont care. To me its like watching karaoke with a really big production

But its not just anyone singing.....
Would you rather have an original band with a new lead singer?
Or an original lead singer with a new band?

neither :( I missed my chance to see Queen (by being born in '88) and just have to accept it. Unfortunately :(

Queen without Freddie Mercury is a fucking joke. The singer is the one you really can't replace.

I guess it was more a question of, is this Paul Rodgers character legit. But I think my question has been answered. So no on "Queen".... not the biggest of deals.

Who that one guy who sounds like Freddie. He played Coachella. They should get him in stead of Paul Rodgers.

Mika - yeah he could do it. Same vocal range (mika's is possibly even better), both like tight clothes, both are gay... its a match.

Queen died when Freddie died. I wish they'd just let it be.

Even Queen with Freddie sucked.
There...I said it. On my list of alltime overrated bands, Queen tops the list:
1. Queen
2. Led Zeppelin
3. Bob Dylan
4. The Who
5. The Rolling Stones

I saw Queen + Paul Rogers. While it wasn't Queen... they weren't claiming to be. They are calling themselves "Queen + Paul Rogers" for a reason. It was a very fun and enjoyable show.
With that being said, keep them the fuck away from Coachella.

yeah I'm really not a giant Queen fan either. so Queen with a new singer at coachella would just seem to me like a space waster.

Queen??
You cant replace Freddie Mercury. But if your going to, not Paul Rodgers.
If anything, bring Queen with George Michael. That i would accept.
Take a listen for yourself

Edit: Listen to the range on George's voice. Sound familiar?

I don't think George Michael would be a good replacement either. Freddie had such a unique voice and range that very few popular singers (with the possible exception of some broadway stars) can match
