Honestly, why is this guy of all people becoming an overnight sensation?

And if he's making over $250,000 a year as a plumber I'm sorry I went to college. :(

Thats my theory.

Soon it's the plumbers, trashmen of the world that will be making the money because of the over abundace of college graduates who won't do these types of jobs.

I think I might start my training in the pipe-laying/shit scrubbing field now.

hahaha... edjumacation

being a plumber is not a job for stupid people and it pays well because people dont wanna do it. I am not a plumber (i am in another trade that pays very well) but it did cross my ming for the amount of money they make.

I was kinda doing both. you say "edjumacation" like joe the plummer is a stupid man but yet he can open and run a company and on the other hand i agree with the part about you guys not wanting to do a job like that. I have many friends that went to school and are doing things for a liveing that has nothing to do with their degree.

rumor is that joe the plumber isn't registered to vote...what an american!

also found this:

"Interesting from TNR: "It's pretty ridiculous that somebody who earns more than 99% of Americans should become a stand-in for the average working man. The picture becomes a little more clear in this interview with Katie Couric, in which Joe the Plumber admits he doesn't actually earn $250,000 a year:
COURIC: Well, he supposedly will raise taxes only on people who make over $250,000 a year. Would you be in that category?
WURZELBACHER: Not right now at presently, but, you know, question, so he's going to do that now for people who make $250,000 a year. When's he going to decide that $100,000 is too much, you know? I mean, you're on a slippery slope here. You vote on somebody who decides that $250,000 and you're rich? And $100,000 and you're rich? I mean, where does it end? You know, that's - people got to ask that question.

In the same interview, he says that Barack Obama did a "tap dance... almost as good as Sammy Davis Junior." But Joe the Plumber is the one who lied about the central premise of his question to Obama. So the whole premise that made Joe the Plumber the icon of the debate turns out to be made up. I don't think reporters should start investigating the details of his life or anything. But if he's going to freely admit that he just made up the one fact that gave his story any political salience, then that's pretty relevant."--Jonathan Chait"

I once took these series of test that measure your personality and your interests and skills and picks out jobs and careers that you should follow, and plumber came up as my #1 choice I should make. Kinda odd.

Where I live its really difficult to get a plumber who doesnt try to rip your arm off for any work they carry out however trivial.

So, I can kind of see McCains point in trying to befriend one through bribery, or any means.

I took one of those tests in high school and it said I should be a concrete sculptor. I don't even know what the fuck a concrete sculptor does, so I changed a few of the answers so it would come out that I should be a cartoonist.

you know, we used to refer to guys who were good in bed as "roto-rooter muthafuckas." If you're asking why, it's because they knew how to lay the pipe. I'm wondering, since Joe Plumber seems to make a whole lot more money than I think he should, if he's really a male escort. AND, if that's the case, are John McCain & Barack Obama really just hinting on a national legalization of prostitution. If so, they both have my vote! :thu

Question for the day: Who would win in a fight between Joe the Plumber and Joe Six-Pack? Just when I think the American Media couldn't stoop any lower they manage dredge up yet another mongoloid from the bowels of America for his or her nauseating fifteen minute donkey show. When will this election be over?

McCain did Joe the Plumber no favorsThu Oct 16, 2:27 PM ET

You knew it would happen. Joe the Plumber's 15 minutes of fame in last night's debate have turned into a round of public humiliation for the wannabe business owner. The Toledo Blade is reporting that Joe has no plumber's license.

To make matters worse, the Blade also found that the Ohio Department of Taxation placed a lien against Joe because $1,183 in personal property taxes had not been paid. To pile on, the paper disclosed, based on divorce records, Joe's 2006 income — $40,000, hardly enough to qualify for the tax hike he's so concerned about.

getting dirttttttty...blog so take with grain of salt

http://www.eisenstadtgroup.com/2008/10/15/joe-the-plumber-wurzelbacher-related-to-charles-keating-oops/

John McCain did great tonight in the debate. But every time John mentioned “Joe the Plumber,” some of us in the campaign banged our heads against the wall. If Steve Schmidt had any hair left, I hear he would have been pulling it out tonight. He reportedly screamed at John’s debate prep team tonight (out of earshot of reporters, of course). “You idiots - he’s related to Charles Keating… of the Keating Five scandal!” They thought they had a real live Joe Six-Pack who’s spurned Barack Obama’s tax plan. But what they forgot to do was check on Joe Wurzelbacher’s background.

Turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher from the Toledo event is a close relative of Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, Ohio. Who’s Robert Wurzelbacher? Only Charles Keating’s son-in-law and the former senior vice president of American Continental, the parent company of the infamous Lincoln Savings and Loan. The now retired elder Wurzelbacher is also a major contributor to Republican causes giving well over $10,000 in the last few years.

Does any of this make Joe the Plumber a bad guy? Of course not. In fact, after that ill-fated night at the Watergate, he may finally be giving plumbers a good name. But at a debate where John goes full bore on Obama for guilt-by-association with William Ayers (and dodges a bullet by Obama not mentioning Keating Five), the press is going to bring it back front and center by midday tomorrow once they delve deeper into the most popular plumber in America.

Not to denigrate any business owner's intelligence, but just because a person manages to open and run a company doesn't necessarily mean they aren't stupid. I've met plenty of people who owned their own companies but who I wouldn't trust to take care of my cat for a weekend.

According to Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Samual Joseph Wurzelbacher, nee Joe the Plumber, is not actually related to the Robert Wurzelbacher who is the son-in-law of Charles Keating. He does, however, appear to be a plant, or at least not just some random person who honestly was on the fence as to whether he was going to vote for either John McCain or Barack Obama.

he's not a plant. i think obama was the first to meet him in ohio. joe grilled obama for five minutes while he was in the neighborhood.

plus, the media talking about joe is the new low for american journalism. this whole thing basically goes back to the same argument that obama will raise taxes for those who make 250k above, except this time, the media finds a NAME to go with this narrative.

this is so goddamn stupid.
