Harrowing.

I worked at a Halloween store a few years back and we were always fighting with the managers and coworkers to put cool Halloween related music on instead of the shitty comps they sell with disco versions of the "Time Warp" or whatever. A couple of people asked if they sold the Cramps cds I put on. One child was crying with his hand over his ears because of Klaus Schulze a song I had playing.

One of my favorite local bands, Cult Of The Psychic Fetus, is perfect for Halloween. Psychobilly/goth/surf type stuff but really consistent song writing, unlike a lot of that shit. http://www.myspace.com/cotpf

CCR never recorded this song. Are you thinking of The Animals' version?

also, how does a song about a whorehouse fit into halloween?

Nobody has mentioned Warren Zevon yet? For shame.

Just off Excitable Boy you get "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner", "Werewolves of London", and "Excitable Boy", all three are deliciously morbid and perfectly suited for Halloween
