You are mad at me because of the Radiohead post and thats cool because you are so close minded that someone doesnt want them to headline and being an ass about it thats cool too it just shows how much of a musical sheep you really are. Even though NIN could headline and lots of people want them i dont get mad if someone hates on them you just cant get over yourself. I don't have a favorite band. I find it impossible to compare shpongle to pink floyd to gorillaz to aphex twin to manu chao to bad religion. it's all so different. we're talking dream situations here, so I picked a band that's up in that echelon of personal appeal who I otherwise would never see. they don't play live. they've done two half live shows in japan, and they're doing their first ever full live show in london on hallowe'en night. I would absolutely lose it if shpongle got 90 minutes in the sahara tent.
and if you were in fact just making a subtle dig, it's pointless- shpongle really are that good. just listen to fifteen minutes of shpongle through good headphones or decent speakers and you will completely lose yourself. it's a whole other league in terms of production value and depth. mind blowing shit.

You are being ignorant and hateful because I voiced an opinion that wasnt popular and stuck by it. This was an awesome thread and fun thread and you come on here and try to make it into an argument with me while the original poster had a good idea and it need to return to that.

Yeah but I said i was a fan and I even went to see them this summer and enjoyed it but this rabid obsessed fan cant get it through his head that I like him can have an opinion and we dont have to agree. I havent liked a Radiohead album since Kid A the first 4 were awesome. In Rainbows had its moments but it was not on the par with the big 4. I anticipated Amnesiac but it was a let down as was Hail to the Theif. In contrast I dont like the newest album from my favorite band much either The SLip by NIN im on here to be objective and and critical you can like something but also not be fanatic about it. botanical dimensions

and I expect that's almost two hours right there.
I guarantee that if this were to happen, with a high enough production value, that this would blow more minds than daft punk. easily. the music is just plain better.

Agreed on all accounts. Shpongle's music is much better than Dafts.

But in the setlist, i'd like to hear Shpongle Spores and Behind Closed Eyelids.

DREAM CONCERT IN GENERAL
It would totally be something stereotypical of a hipster's wet dream...Most likely Jeff Mangum would come onto the stage, spotlit, and start singing "Oh, Comely"...And then, when it got raucous at the end with the horns and everything, the whole stage would light up, and suddenly it's motherfucking Elvis Costello breaking out into an amazing version of "Radio, Radio" followed by "Watching the Detectives" and "Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes".

Then, out of nowhere, it's a goddamn Pavement reunion, and they jam on something like "Rattled By the Rush". I think, then, they have to play "Shady Lane" since it's my dream show.

The stage darkens, and everyone's like OMG WTF BEST SHOW EVER...And you suddenly hear the opening bass line to "Blue Monday"...and it's goddamn New Order. (They should play like, a super extended jamout 14 minute version of that song.) They'd also play "Bizzare Love Triangle" and "Ceremony."

While the gear for the next band gets set up, Jeff comes out again with his guitar and begins playing an acoustic version of "Two Headed Boy Part 2". The stage falls dark again, and then Kraftwerk flies down from the sky and plays "Pocket Calculator" while everyone dances.

David Bowie would show up from his headlining spot the night before and do an epic duet with Arcade Fire. Out of nowhere, Lou Reed pops up on stage and launches into an amazing mini set with "I'm So Free", "Heroin", and "Sunday Morning."

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, so everyone comes back out onstage, holds hands, and sings "What the World Needs Now is Love" while pink fireworks go off in the sky and unicorns frolic around the polo fields.

Yeah, that would be epic.

I dont think I could ever create a set list for my favorite group. I mean I could, but it would just end up being a list of my favorite tunes from them. Creating a set list for the Chemical Brothers is much more complex task then playing from one song to the next. But since this is for fun, my attempt looks something like this:

1 Come With Us
2 Music: Response
3 Hey Boy Hey Girl>Do It Again>Electronic Battle Weapon 7 [vocals]
4 Electronic Battle Weapon 6>Flashback>Three Little Birdies Down Beats
5 It Began in Afrika>Denmark
6 Saturate>Believe
7 The Sunshine Underground
8 Burst Generator
9 Midnight Madness
10 Elektrobank
11 Piku/Loops of Fury>(The Best Part of) Breaking Up
12 The Pills Won't Help You Now [instrumental]>We Are The Night
13 Out of Control/ Dont Fight it, Feel it [Bootleg]/ It Doesn't Matter
14 Setting Sun
15 Chemical Beats
16 The Golden Path

Encore:

17 Playground of a Wedgeless Firm>Block Rockin Beats
18 Galvanize>Get Yourself High
19 Temptation[cover]>Star Guitar
20 The Test

Concert would be approximately 2hrs 10min runtime.

That list is missing so many other great tracks...

That list is missing so many other great tracks...

trust me Bosco, I thought about trying to create a chemical brothers setlist, but I realized it'd be near impossible to do. So many awesome songs and mixes to choose from.

flute loop, oh word, so what'cha want, the brouhaha, the grasshopper unit, electrify, negotiate limerick file, something's gotta give.....would take any of these over pro booty, live at pj's, or stand together (i can tell you like check your head)

paul's boutique would be awesome, singing along word for word to b-boy bouillabaise....."got busy in frisco fooooooooooled around in fresno" :dumbo

Flute Loop, mhm, that would be a good addition... im not putting any TT5B in my dream setlist...but if i had to, it would be The Brouhaha, or maybe Thats it, Thats All... Professor Booty has never been played live before, and has MCA's best verse in their entire catalogue... Live at PJs, for sentimental reasons... and Stand Together would be fun.... maybe the orginal version of Intergalactic from 94... that would be sweet. Also in my dream setlist, I try and stay away from the singles I can hear at all their shows including So Whatcha Want, despite being a great live track. Although I did forget Paul Revere, which is one of my top 5 tracks... but still...

I can't imagine anything other than Come With Us as an opener, though. So, at least you have one solid song down.

actually if I had to pick something as opener, it may be Galvanize, for the sole purpose that I can't see it being played anywhere else in the set. Galvanize into Come With Us would be interesting.

Excellent setlist my friend! my head has been exploding trying to put goether a white stripes setlist of my own.

7NA/Death Letter=>Jolene=>ball&biscuit is pretty genius. having them close with "Friends" pretty bold I must say. So fay, I have them starting the encore with My Doorbell and they open up with Jimmy the Exploder.

Gaaaa its just so difficult

I feel your pain, I just whipped this one up pretty quickly. I closed with "Friends" because I thought it would be great to have the whole crowd sing along. At the Vancouver show last year, he barely sang any of the words, the crowed pretty much sang the whole song and it was great.

Never even considered it as a possibility. We tried to get them to play it last tour, just to see if they would, and it was a non-runner. Maybe just a question of not having a banjo to hand, but I kinda suspect maybe they phased it out 'cause the lyrics raise a couple of awkward questions.

To be honest, I'd still take Woodlands National Anthem over it, and I'd hear Burning Bridges/ Breaking Hearts over either...

These Massive Attack setlists need more Antistar and Small Time Shot Away. And Everywhen.

Hell, just play 100th Window in its entirety, but leave out A Prayer for England.

I was basing the list soley on what she would eventually perform on the world tour.
And the stage set up (from the pics I've seen) were still ok at Coachella. She had the giant screens behind her and a little runway and lights n shit.
But with only 6 songs, I guess they didnt feel the need to bring out the horse, cage, and all that stuff.

Win's last blog post starts "Hope you are having a great spring", and Jeremy just deleted everything except his last post, so safe to say that if they're up to anything, they're keeping radio silence on it. I suspect Bell Orchestre are going to keep Arcade Fire out of the picture for quite some time though.
