@ Coachella '09, please.

VG reported on the progress of a-ha's next studio album last week. The band is heading back into the studio within the next month to continue work on the as-yet-unnamed record. The hope is to have the recording finished by the end of the year, with an eye to release the album in the spring of 2009. Other news outlets reporting on the album include Seher, TV2, and P4.

Release dates, as always, are subject to change, but as soon as we have more concrete information, we'll be sure to let you all know.

Yeah, I would have to say this would be a pretty cool addition to the lineup. I had no idea they were still together.

I'd be down for this. a-ha was the very first show I ever attended, way back in 1986 at the Paramount in Seattle. Bourgeois Tagg opened.

I don't know why I can't find this on youtube. They just have a bunch of other versions. (http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1601388/family_guy_take_on_me/)

from what i've heard they've always been around in some capacity since they started and i guess theyre pretty big outside of the states. here they are pretty much disregarded as a one hit wonder even tho i think they had a couple of singles that did well

Um, I just love 80s synth-pop, but I say "fail" with this suggestion. Human League, Devo, Yaz, and so many others move to the front of the line.

Morten Harket was at my work conference last month working for Microsoft. He did a version of Take On Me on Lips (the 360's answer to Singstar). He can still hit the high notes.
