The VP debate was sort of ummm uneventful. Palin looked sharp following a week of scary Couric questions. She still is scary based on her opinions though and she at one point said "say it ain't so joe" and used a lot of the Bush plain speak that we have all learned ot hate as a country. Biden was pointed and intelligent as well and he edged out the victory when it comes to pure debate grading but the fact that she didn't look like a complete fucking moron on stage scored big points for her.

I don't think I have ever seen a debate where anyone was ever "destroyed". So i'm expecting more of the same.

Watch the rebroadcast they do on cnn.com. It's interesting because normally they have "real-time" response info from undecided voters in battleground states.

I am so over these trivial attacks when the world as we know it is tumbling down all around us.

At least my generation will get to buy houses in cash...

By then they should be pretty affordable.

No this is a simply chart the tracks the responses of men vs. women. Takes up a sliver of the bottom of the screen.

The phrase third rail is a metaphor in politics to denote an idea or topic that is so "charged" and "untouchable" that any politician or public official who dares to broach the subject would invariably suffer politically.

It's so far to the right here, it doesn't make a difference. I'm voting for Obama, but he's only going to be getting votes here in Columbia in any decent amount.

Obama's idea of cutting a family budget sounds nothing like what a lot of us do. Not going to restaurants as much and putting off that new car? if you're an undecided voter at this point, you should be taken out back and beaten with a hose.

Why? The candidates are the same. Neither of them talk about issues. Neither of them really say anything; they recite talking points. And both of them have similar platforms on the issues that matter.

Look at the third party candidates. Each one of them was against the bailout! All four of them! These two don't represent us.

You know what? Everyone I talk to agrees that third party candidates are better, and the only argument against voting third party is it's "stupid" or it's "throwing your vote away" or "why the fuck would you do that?"

If everyone voted solely on principle, I strongly believe that Obama and McCain would be polling 6%, not the other way around. I understand if the third party candidates were more divided, but they are UNANIMOUS on getting out of Iraq, voting against the bailout, and a couple other issues.

what the fuq is clean coal?? isn't that an oxymoron?

Ahem...

Clean coal is an umbrella term used in the promotion of the use of coal as an energy source by emphasizing methods being developed to reduce its environmental impact. These efforts include chemically washing minerals and impurities from the coal, gasification (see also IGCC), treating the flue gases with steam to remove sulfur dioxide, and carbon capture and storage technologies to capture the carbon dioxide from the flue gas. These methods and the technology used are described as clean coal technology. Major politicians and the coal industry use the term "clean coal" to describe technologies designed to enhance both the efficiency and the environmental acceptability of coal extraction, preparation and use,[1] with no specific quantitative limits on any emissions, particularly carbon dioxide.

You are boiling these issues down into the LCD. Are you this stupid, or do you just enjoy playing dumb? There are all kinds of variables that can make all of your points above incredibly more complicated. They both have different definitions of what "safe" is, as well as where any kind of strike lies in their list of "options" with Iran, and simply saying someone is "pro-Israel" is fucking moronic, as if any there aren't shades of grey in between. None of these issues are simply semantics with them.

Denmark has less people than Chicago.

The city of Chicago is 3 million no? The population of Denmark is 5 million. On a side note funny enough...countries like Denmark that have universal health care have LOWER abortion rates then the US....weird.

It's a shame it's so damn difficult to move to those countries. I'd move to Scandinavia in heartbeat if I had the opportunity.

I will eventually...my company has hotels there...

See, this is what I'm talking about. They're hardly different even on taxes - the only difference is McCain is keeping the Bush tax cuts. Foreign issues? Whether Obama is more diplomatic is not really an issue - the issue is whether or not Obama is going to put our military to use all over the world when we can't afford it, and he will.

You asked for differences, I gave them to you....

The cost of living in this country has been rising for years, but wages haven't increased. Tax break after tax break, but it's just a stop-gap.

I'd rather have higher taxes, and have assured healthcare/education.

The healthcare situation right now is not good, but much better than what it would be if it were socialized. I don't want to die in the emergency room. I don't want the government creating all types of unnecessary regulations. I want choice.

I can't believe Obama brought up the "Bomb bomb Iran" song. What a joke.
