the raconteurs are a great band. but a reapeat at coachella ( even though i missed them this year) let alone headline is not needed.

Unless they decide to release a new album, no!

At least not as a headliner. Id rather get the Jack White Stripes, but then again, I didnt miss the opportunity to rock my ass off to their set this past year.......

I would like to see them again, not as a Coachella headliner though. I'm hoping 2009 is a White Stripes year for Jack though. White Stripes>Led Zepplin would be the best night ever. Maybe White Stripes>Bob Dylan, since Zepplin probably won't happen.

i dont think i would want Bob Dylan to headline. i hear he is pretty bad live nowadays

i love the raconteurs, only thing is i've seen them twice already and i never got to catch the white stripes. if i could have the white stripes over the raconteurs that'd be sweet but either way
more jack white = better concert experience

They kicked ass at Coachella!
But as far as headliner in 09 goes...I believe it would need to be the White Stripes.
But I am not sure if they will EVER get back together.
Considering the problems Meg has had. I would not be surprised if Jack just moves on to the Raconteurs "full-time".

I've speculated numerous times it was her in that sex tape and that's what caused the end. I think she is fine now, expect the raconteurs to finish up their touring by the end of the year. Meg joined the Raconteurs on stage at the Detroit concert and played drums to a huge roaring ovation so she ain't done yet, that sex tape though made her reconsider things I think but hopefully she is better now.

I've seen the vid clip that was supposed to be Meg, my opinion is it was not her. The girl was similar in looks, but her face didn't quite match. My theory on her meltdown was either honest exhaustion from a long tour or drug/alcohol abuse. Or, maybe she had some kind of traumatic experience. We will probaly never really now.

It was proven that that was an old video from a porn site, not Meg White. Also, Meg did not play drums at that show with The Raconteurs. She came out for the encore, sat behind the drum kit, and that was all. It did get fans excited but she did not play. Get your facts straight. The White Stripes will play shows again, and I think it will be 2009.

Raconteurs > Stooges > Stones...Fuck The World!!!

Yes!!!

Coachella already did White Stripes > Stooges though. It doesn't seem like they would repeat that. I would love it though! I've been hoping for an all old school headliner Coachella:

Friday - The Who
Saturday - Led Zeppelin
Sunday - Rolling Stones

Although it would never happen, I like to dream.

i'm not positive on this but didn't jack white say that her wants to switch off years between the two bands? like one year the raconteurs and the next the white stripes? i'll see if i can find a link

there ya go

"Q How does your involvement in the Raconteurs affect the White Stripes?

A We weren't sure at first. In the normal business sense it would have been crazy to put aside this successful band and go start a new one. And it is hard in ancillary ways. For instance, I played some shows with Meg in the middle of a Raconteurs tour, and stopping the train and getting into a whole different set of songs was difficult. But now we just say, "This is a White Stripes year'' and "This is a Raconteurs year.''

Q Does Meg feel like you're two-timing her?

A I don't think she feels shafted. She was at a Raconteurs show in L.A. and having a great time. She's very involved and interested, and she had specific comments after the show"
