i can't speak the that show, but i saw them in dallas and thought while it was really cool, i expected it to be just as awesome as daft punk, which it wasn't. so i was bummed

Damn, ficklecycle, you haven't posted in awhile! Did you get lost on the way home from Coachella? Oh, and Justice? I only caught the end after Waters, and by that time you couldn't get in that tent. I was okay with that though...there was room to dance outside the tent. The Sahara was definitely packed solid, no doubt!

Hey ficklecycle.

I knew they would suck. Did not even consiter going to the tent. Yeah, 07 was a great set. The Wiltern was overall the best experience with those guys.

people wanted it to be an epic daft punk 06 experience but theres just no way. sweet caroline was the highlight of their set for me.

I unfortunately didn't attend Coachella '07 (I was broke and my new job in Minnesota started the Monday morning after the '07 fest), and it seems everyone on here thought they were better in '07 than in '08. But I thought they were pretty friggin' awesome closing out the Sahara this year. I guess I truly missed out on their '07 set, but I wasn't disappointed with what I saw in '08. A perfect way to end the festival IMO.

Maybe they were just overhyped and destined to disappoint. There was a good crowd there and overall it was still a fun time.

I was late to this show because of Roger Waters and I spent the whole time making out with a guy, so maybe I'm not the best judge.

But was there anything in that show that was danceable? It seemed like a tent full of people who were all trying to find a beat but just ended up waving their hands and screaming. Huh?

You apparently give third and fourth chances too. Burn me once, shame on thee. Burn me twice, we'll still pin that one on you. Burn me a third time, unstable footing. Burn me a fourth time, and you can call me B.B. Que.

Their set in 08 was pretty lame and I was on so many drugs anything should've sounded good.

Their set in 2007 was one of my favorite concerts of ever and I saw them at Treasure Island and they were awesome there so I really donno what happened in 2008 but it wasn't very much fun.

Not a big electronic fan, but I like their CD and enjoyed the daft punk show in '06. Did not enjoy this. Basically waited for it to end, so my friends would leave with me.

My uncultured opinion is that their show had too many breaks and didn't build to anything. It was just a numbing onslaught of light and sound which stopped for some reason ever minute and a half or so.

Ah hell, if it was the first time you ever saw Justice all of you would be creaming yourselves over their 08 set. I thought it was a lot of fun and I danced my ass off....that being said, Justice is'nt anything special and should'nt be hyped up in the least. and I'm sure that's what pigeonholed a lot of you guys that did'nt enjoy the show. high expectations.

Dude, they just played their album. It was kinda cool but if you listened to their album within a month before the show, it was kinda boring. I think they werent even doing anything up in the booth other than pressing play. Kinda lame for the amount of money they're getting paid.

i agree with brando4n here, WTF was everyone expecting? it was certainly not just their album, because if you had listened to the album you would know it was quite more than that. but, more importantly, what the fuck does it matter what they were doing up there?

i went to dance. i didnt go to then later critique everything about it.

They made the music. it melted my face. i was happy.

Thats about right. When I saw them a few months before Coachella 08 I was really impressed and expected them to drop an epic set in the Sahara. Not so, their tour was a mix of their album with a few other songs mixed in and their Coachella set just mixed up their tour set a little. It made me realize that they were solid studio DJs but have no range live. The excess hype didn't help them either. I was tired and left after a few songs.

I think the "closing out" aspect affected a lot of people....after 3 days of straight partying, it isnt the easiest to rage face and have full enthusiasm...i think if they were night 1 or 2, there may be a big difference in the overall feel about their set.

boarderwoozel3
11-25-2008, 03:33 PM
Yes I totally agree! I was dead after three days of crazin' at Coachella. Maybe GV should have switched Fatboy and Justice's sets? It's all in the past anyway. I'm really interested to see if Justice's sophomore album can live up to the first. I'm waiting to solidify my opinion of them until that time. Can't recall who said it but, "You have your whole life to make the first album and six months to make the second." Let's see what the duo can really do...

I had the exact opposite experience at Justice this year. The way they were ripping it and as crazy as everyone was going up front, it felt more like Friday night than the tired end of a long weekend.

Justice is only cool the first time you see them. They were awesome at Coachella, lame at Street Scene even though it was the same exact show.
