Maybe I'm behind the 8-ball on this one, but my buddy just sent me a link for Pandora Radio, which creates a playlist based on your likes and dislikes. I have seen shit like this before, but this is the first site I've found that actually works well. I created a radio station based on Radiohead, Tool, Boards of Canada, and Bright Eyes, and the result is pretty astounding. Has anyone else played around with this site?

Ha, thanks. Though your reading comprehension could use a little sharpening

I comprehend fully the fact that you acknowledged your potential tardiness in recognizing the Pandora service. I fail to see how that has any bearing on what I might or might not choose to write.

You picked a pretty atrocious time to become enamored. (http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/688310/Pandora_Closing_Music_Box_Soon.html)

the new iTunes has a similar feature built in. well sort of. you can click on a song and tell it to build a playlist of "similar" songs from stuff already in your library. Not sure how it defines similar. Judge for yourself

Fight Test
1. Flaming Lips, "Fight Test"
2. Belle & Sebastian, "If She Wants Me"
3. Bright Eyes, "Bowl of Oranges"
4. The Shins, "Caring is Creepy"
5. The Decemberists, "16 Military Wives"
6. Bloc Party, "This Modern Love"
7. The Walkmen, "The Rat"
8. The Flaming Lips, "Yeah Yeah Yeah Song"
9. Sufjan Stevens, "Chicago (Multiple Personality Disorder Version)"
etc, goes on for 25 songs

Weird Fishes
1. Radiohead, "Weird Fishes"
2. LCD Soundsystem, "Someone Great"
3. MIA, "Come Around"
4. Air "Sexy Boy"
5. Moby "Natural Blues"
6. Chromeo "Fancy Footwork"
7. Massive Attack "Angel"
8. LCD Soundsystem "Daft Punk Is Playing at My House"
etc.
not sure when Radiohead became a Sahara tent band.

and finally
Pink Steam
1. Sonic Youth "Pink Steam"
2. Thurston Moore, "The Shape Is In a Trance"
3. The National, "Brainy"
4. Battles, "Race-In"
5. The Good The Bad The Queen "Three Changes"
6. Yo La Tengo, "From a Motel 6"
7. Sonic Youth, "Drunken Butterfly"
8. My Morning Jacket, "Dodante"
etc

there is apparently also an option to build a playlist from the itunes store and buy stuff. how bout that.

Last.fm is soooo much better than Pandora and you don't have to use that wretched flash player. You can use the music player or your choice or they provide you with one.

I started with pandora but like coldstar I'm happier with last.fm...

But I could probably juggle the two but why bother???

Fuck I use Pandora daily...I like it.

I guess I'll be switching to Last if it gets shut down.
