Last time I saw him, on the Reality Tour, he was fucking unreal. When was the last time he played an entire set anywhere?? I know he has made a few sporadic appearances, but does his health allow for something such as a headlining set??

Ironically enough i was listening to Bowie earlier today whilst cleaning my house. Did more dancing and singing that cleaning. I had to repeat Blue Jean 3 times I was having such a blast recreating that silly video.

dIn response to Bowie performing at Coachella 2009 I couldn't agree with you more!! As if
Waters wasnt mind blowing enough to follow up With Bowie would be the cherry on top and revive Coachella to the prestige it once possessed. And then follow Bowie Up with U2 or sumthin....ya now that would be tha shit hahahahaah!!!!!

I'm sure Paul Tollett has tried to get Bowie in the past. Hopefully 2009 is the year it finally happens. It took 5 years for Radiohead to finally play and even longer for Prince, but 2009 feels right. Let's hope and pray! *crosses fingers*

I've said it before and I'll say it again:
Pulp reunion on the main stage immediately before Bowie, followed by The Knife in the tent = the most mindblowing triple goodness ever.

Hell, just Pulp or just Bowie would be life-changing. Actually, it is probably more realistic. I see Bowie playing Saturday like Prince last year, so maybe The Knife can play after Radiohead on Sunday like Justice played after Waters this year.

Pulp->Bowie would make for one amazing Saturday night, yes. This sounds like Bestchella...

Saturday:
Scott Walker 7:30-8:20 (likely on another stage, probably too esoteric for a sunset main slot)
Pulp 8:50-10:00
David Bowie 10:30-curfew breaking 12:30, or 1am if he's late, and aren't legends always late?

Sunday:
someone worthy of playing before Radiohead (meaning not Kraps of Leon or Manure Chao)...maybe Beck? 7:00-8:00
Radiohead 8:45-11:00
The Knife 11:00-12:00

that entire scene always scared me, always always always as a kid too. it wasnt until recent years that the scene and song has really grown on me, especially in its importance to the movie itself. its where you really know that Jared is actually in love with her, although its pretty much hinted at the entire movie

Is that a rumor for NME to pick up? not bad.

And that reminded me..

At my school, someone posted a flyer saying 'DRUMMER WANTED'. The body of the flyer mentioned that it would be for a performance in Indio next Spring. And that the person should be comfortable with playing David Bowie tunes.

I was looking for ya man, but I never saw ya. I am glad I wasn't the dancing douchbag in front of you haha. I was 1 person away from the barrier, right between Thom and Johnny. Where were you?

Actually, we ended up in the middle. We got to the venue 20 MINUTES before Radiohead went on! Fucking... Lame! But it was still quite amazing. Traffic was a bitch AND I got pulled over and given a $250 ticket! And we got lost. so yeah.. we got there late and barely in time to get to the pit before they went on.

So I'm listening to Best of Bowie at the moment. David really does need to booked for a Sunday 10:15-??? set. And someone with a damn good voice had better duet "Under Pressure" with him :D Kthnxbai

I haven't seen Bowie since the Outside tour with NIN, that was 15 years ago.

He is the sun at the center of the underground/alt music universe. He is my HERO.

Paul get Bowie for 09 and we will all suck your dick!

I hope everyone gets that this is meant as a heartfelt exaggeration in an attempt crystallize the degree of our desire.

I support this noble cause. He can bring his dear friend Goldie, who would promptly rock my life with awesomeness.

For sure.

Now if he could just get the Cocteau Twins to play nice for just a little while...
what a lovely treat that would be!!!

I'll sit and wait patiently for this one. This year has been an epic year for music with Goldfrapp, Radiohead, and MBV.

Same here. It's the Cocteau Twins comment I was referring to.

Should I be concerned that I'm strangely attracted to David Bowie? I guess you can add him to my list with Johnny Depp and Prince.
