The Verve's new album Forth can be bought as a deluxe edition with a DVD that has 5 songs from the 2008 Coachella set as well as a documentary.

I might get it but waiting to see if there really is Coachella video on the DVD.

According to a guy in this thread it's falsely advertised. http://coachella.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21192&page=2

They sucked so hard at Coachella. Nothing special about them at all.

So that's why The Verve's record company had my Bittersweet Symphony video yanked off YouTube for "copyright" reasons.

Yeah, and they didn't even put that song on the dvd.

Actually, that probably happened because The Rolling Stones pretty much own that song.

Why buy a CD key for 18.25 when you can get the key with the CD's and a useless book and all that stuff for 19.99 at the store?

Does anyone know where I can find an AVI or torrent file that works for this Verve Coachella DVD?

I'm convinced at this point that the coachella set dvd never existed. I've not seen any evidence of it outside of these boards. I can't even find an edition that has a dvd with it. I've heard it exists, but doesn't have the coachella set. so yeah. I'm convinced someone came in here and decided to stir up shit with that rumor.

It exists alright:

but sadly, the Coachella footage is nowhere to be found on the DVD...just the documentary.

The ones being sold in UK or outside US look all right. *Am waiting on my order from amazon uk*

The bonus DVD is a nice little extra, but could have been better. The "Space & Time: The Verve Documentary" isn't really much of an insightful documentary. It's only 25 minutes of Nick & Simon saying how great it is to be back playing again after 10 years, interspersed with voxpop clips of fans saying how great it is the band are back together again, and short clips of live performances from the 2007/08 tour. More enjoyable is "The Verve: Live At Coachella, April 2008" which consists of the five tracks: Sonnet, This Is Music, The Rolling People, Lucky Man and Love Is Noise. These are all great live performances, especially Lucky Man and Love Is Noise. However it would have been nice to see more of the gig than just these 5 tracks.

The live tracks on the accompanying DVD are awesome - hopefully a full length one will follow in the not-too-distant future as they always deliver the goods live! In short I would recommend this to dedicated fans, but it fades into insignificance against the masterful first three albums. Hopefully they will hold out again long enough for a true return to form!

hmm..interesting..

I've found other people encountering the same problem with the DVD so it might have just been the first run that were defective.

My DVD has the Coachella footage so there must have been manufacturing issues, or maybe they stripped the video for US purchase.

yeah, I really want this footage but am too scared to buy it because I don't want to be stuck with a copy that cheats me out of the live videos.

I ordered it from Amazon UK and it plays perfectly... just thought I'd throw that option out there. It wasn't really cheap though.... like $25

They're actually just using your video and there is nothing you can do about it.

I have this DVD and it plays fine, looks and sounds great. Ordered mine directly from the band's store site. You do need a region-free player, at least that was the case with the one I bought.

Yea I bought the UK limited vinyl/cd/dvd version for the equivalent of $100 shipped, before I found out it's available in the USA for half that price! I could play the PAL version on my computer, but my system would only let me change the region 5 times. So I only got 1 viewing of it, and definitely don't want to rip a torrent of it. Although I'd appreciate if someone has the files that I could actually use, also.

For some reason, the entire concert seemed a step or so tuned down compared to when I saw them live from about 50 feet back that night. And if you slept thru the concert, you don't truly understand the power or emotion of the Verve, which is what really makes the band. I have to say it was the best Coachella experience I've had!

you can play PAL dvds in most cheap DVD players.
