Obama isn't blackity black. He's just... sorta black.

It really bothers me that he's constantly labeled the Black or African American candidate...he's of mixed racial heritage, which doesn't make him black, it makes him partially black...in fact, his black father left and he was raised by his white mother who then moved him to Indonesia for several years to raise him with an Indonesian step father, then moved back to Hawaii...doesn't sound like the stereotypical African American experience

It seems ridiculous that he is constantly claimed by one side as "theirs" Isn't he supposed to provide hope and change for all of us?

But if he's half white then it's only half a change.

If a hurricane as big as katrina hits NOLA again, they might as well burn the city to the ground.

And I love New Orleans in the first place.

Not in America. You are either black or you arent. Just like Tiger Woods. I'm not saying it's right... Also, what part of being left by your father isnt an african american experience? Also I wouldnt pin all this "hope and change for us all" BS on the guy. Talk is cheap and America still does not run its best people for president. Dont think he isnt controlled by big money.

Regarding hurricanes in NO. At what point do you say "fuck this, Im not going be uprooted and have to worry about rebuilding my home every damned year" ?

ahem, city of action dude... and what can you say about most people in CA? That they have to be uprooted and worry about losing their home every year? How so?

fires/earthquakes/mudslides. not all, but a really good portion.

thats awesome!! i thought, on the board, i lived in the worst place. i kid, i kid. we're neighbors.

Bud Luster
09-02-2008, 07:50 PM
Its kinda hard to debate that consider the fires we've had in recent years. And yeah, its not the most happening or fun place to live, but I just purchased a very nice house for very little money. I pop over to the bay area to have my fun. I lived close to downtown San Diego for 11 years and grew tired of city life.

*Edit: where are you at?
