It's the dish from KFC that came out a couple of years ago. It's basically everything the place has semi-liquified and then thrown into a plastic bowl.

to quote patton oswalt, it's "a failure meal inside of a sadness bowl" or something like that.

I currently work at a deli that serves a few large potatoes as meals. One of our potatoes is called a "pollo mexicano" potato. It's a giant potato that has grilled chicken and sour cream under melted cheddar cheese, topped off with pico and spices. We have one lady who always orders it as a carry out item, but gets it with no spices or pico, triple the cheese, triple the sour cream, and bacon and butter added. The normal retail price of the potato is 5.99; when she orders it, and all of the extra stuff is priced in, it amounts to about 12 dollars.

Welcome to America.

not even close. it's a layer of mashed potatoes, a layer of chicken, topped with corn, cheese, and gravy. it's heaven if eaten at the right moment, it's like having a holiday meal in a bowl! no liquification involved.

this is entirely a possibility. But someone who is really really big does not need a death potato for dinner. The entire potato weights almost 3 pounds!!

Actually, for anyone who is into comedians, Bruce Bruce came into my place once. What I found kind of ironic is that he ordered a trip to the salad bar and nothing else.

Yeah; it just made me think about that one special I watched on discovery health or some channel; the guy was bedridden and lived with his family and ate over 20,000 calories a day; his family did the cooking for him. When they wanted to show him how much he ate (because he was in denial about it), they made him everything he would eat in an entire day and laid it out on the table. He walked out, they showed him, and his reply was: "lets eat!" Of course he/she doesn't need the death potato...but that's how those people end up that way in the first place.

Anyway I got curious about that big ass potato because I love Jason's Deli and usually get a turkey sandwich and always wondered about those potatoes: here's the nutritional value of it BEFORE that lady adds all that crap on it. It's basically the caloric intake one person needs for the entire day.

LAYERED COOKIE BARS

1 stick butter
1 heaping c. graham cracker crumbs
1 pkg. (16 oz.) chocolate chips
1 pkg. (6 oz.) butterscotch
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 can Eagle Brand milk

Melt 1 stick butter in a 13 x 9 inch pan. Sprinkle 1 heaping cup of graham cracker crumbs over butter. Next sprinkle evenly 1 package (16 ounce) chocolate chips. Sprinkle 1 (6 ounce) bag of butterscotch chips evenly over chocolate chips. Then sprinkle 1 cup of coconut and 1 cup walnuts (chopped) evenly over mixture. Finally pour 1 can Eagle Brand milk over mixture, evenly. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool. Keep refrigerated.

The sweetened condensed type. Make them Amy, you'll love 'em! I don't usually go 100% by the recipe, but by the way the pan looks - if it looks like you need more graham cracker crumbs or choc chips or whatever go for it.

NYPD sez: if you don't like this country, get the fuck out.

Fan Ejected From Yankee Stadium For Bathroom Break
Man Says Cops Kicked Him Out When He Tried To Go To Men's Room During 'God Bless America'
NEW YORK (CBS) ― A Queens man is considering legal action against the New York Yankees after he was ejected from Tuesday night's contest against the Boston Red Sox for trying to use the restroom during the playing of "God Bless America."

During the patriotic 7th inning stretch at Yankee Stadium, nature called on Bradford Campeau-Laurion. When he tried to leave his seat during the traditional singing of God Bless America, however, he says he was stopped by a NYPD officer who said he'd have to wait until the song was done.

"I then said to him, 'I don't care about God Bless America. I just need to use the bathroom.' As soon as I said that, he immediately pinned my arm behind my back," Campeau-Laurion told CBS 2.

The 29-year-old says two officers pinned both of his arms behind his back and ejected him from the stadium.

"He shoved me out the front gate and told me get out of their country if I didn't like it," he said.

Campeau-Laurion says he didn't know theYankees had a rule restricting movement in the stands during the playing of God Bless America. The rule is enforced by ushers, stadium security and the NYPD.

The New York Civil Liberties Union says, however, that New York's finest crossed the line.

Pics or it didn't happen.

This thread reminded me that I had taken a picture of a ticket for one of her colossal heart attack potato orders:

http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/3768/p1010417uy4.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

I know, I know, a lot of you are probably a little sad about the road your great country has taken. I know you think the world hates you because of that asshole who's been at the wheel this last few years.

BBC's just made a documentary called The American Future: A History, by Simon Schama, about the history of America and American politics right up to present day. It made me want to hug an Eagle. BBC have been pretty swift about knocking it off youtube, but seriously, keep an eye out for it.

It passed, but God, I think I understand it's siren call at last.

Like Stinkbutt said, you said Obama had no chance winning. You then followed up by saying if he did win, he would be assasinated before inauguration.

It's the dish from KFC that came out a couple of years ago. It's basically everything the place has semi-liquified and then thrown into a plastic bowl.

to quote patton oswalt, it's "a failure meal inside of a sadness bowl" or something like that.

The Onion actually got Oswalt to eat one early last year.

"NAIROBI, Kenya (April 13) - Bracing themselves on a rolling warship in choppy seas, U.S. Navy snipers fired three flawless shots to kill a trio of Somali pirates and free the American sea captain being held at gunpoint, a Navy commander said Monday."

"The Navy released images of the scene from an unmanned drone that showed snipers positioning themselves on the fantail of the USS Bainbridge. The snipers fired simultaneously."

"Asked how the snipers could have killed each pirate with a single shot in the dark, Gortney described them as "extremely, extremely well-trained." He told NBC's "Today" show that the shooting was ordered by the captain of the Bainbridge."

"The SEALS arrived on the scene by parachuting from their aircraft into the sea, and were picked up by the Bainbridge, a senior U.S. official said."

oh, the stories these guys could tell.

“The Americans broke the peace process and killed our teenagers aggressively,” Yasin said. “They tricked us and opted out of the peace deal.”

Poll: Obama popularity boosts US image abroad, but Muslim distrust remains and Israel wary

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama's popularity has boosted America's image abroad even though deep suspicions about the U.S. persist in the Muslim world, according to a poll released Thursday.

The survey of two dozen nations conducted this spring by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center found that positive public attitudes toward the United States have surged in many parts of the world since Obama's election.

Positive opinions about the United States have returned to higher levels not seen since before President George W. Bush took office in 2001. The Bush presidency marked a steep decline in U.S. popularity overseas, notably after the 2003 invasion of Iraq, because of a perception that the post-9/11 war on terrorism was targeted at Muslims.

"The image of the United States has improved markedly in most parts of the world, reflecting global confidence in Barack Obama," the centre said in its annual Pew Global Attitudes Report.

The only exception was Israel, where attitudes toward the U.S. have dipped since Bush left office.

The improvements "are being driven much more by personal confidence in Obama than by opinions about his specific policies," Pew reported.

At the same time, several specific administration policies drew near universal acclaim, including Obama's pledge to close the Navy-run detention facility for terrorist suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and the U.S. timeline for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq, the survey found.

The Pew report found that in 21 of the countries surveyed, an average of 71 per cent of respondents had at least some confidence in the U.S. president's handling of world affairs. In 2008, when Bush was in the White House, the figure in those same countries was only 17 per cent.

The centre said the most profound shifts came in Western Europe, notably in France and Germany, where confidence in Obama exceeds that for French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

In addition, U.S. favourability rose by at least 10 percentage points in 11 countries over last year, including in Latin America, Africa and Asia - largely as a result of Obama's election, the centre said.

Still, the poll registered continuing levels of profound distrust about U.S. influence and motives among Muslims, particularly in Turkey, Pakistan and the Palestinian territories. There, the report said, "animosity toward the (United States) ... continues to run deep and unabated."

Attitudes toward America also rose slightly in U.S. allies Egypt and Jordan and registered some improvement after Obama's much-heralded speech to the Muslim world delivered in Cairo on June 4. But Palestinians appeared unmoved and Israelis were unimpressed, according to the findings.

Indonesia, where Obama spent part of his childhood, was a major bright spot in the Muslim world. More than 70 per cent of Indonesians expressed confidence in Obama, up from 23 per cent for Bush in 2008. Nearly 80 per cent of Indonesians were aware that Obama had lived in their country when he was a boy.

Favourability ratings for Obama and the U.S. were also high in Kenya, where the new president's father was from. Ninety per cent of Kenyans surveyed had a favourable opinion of the United States and 96 per cent knew that Obama's father was a Kenyan, according to the poll.

The poll, which surveyed nearly 27,000 people, also found:

-While the U.S. image abroad has largely improved, foreign populations are still concerned about what they see as unilateralism on the part of the United States and the economic and cultural influence that America exerts across the world.

-Foreign publics have largely negative views of their own nations' economies, especially amid the global economic downturn.

-Huge majorities see global warming as a serious problem.

From the masterminds behind The Famous Bowl, may I present the new KFC Double Down Sandwich

The "sandwich" part tucked between the two filets is two slices of bacon, melted swiss and pepper jack cheese and "the Colonel's sauce."
"It's so much 100 percent premium chicken, we didn't have room for a bun," according to a commercial for the new sandwich, which we grabbed off of YouTube below.
The Double Down is being test-marketed in Providence, R.I., and Omaha, Neb. for $6.99, which includes fries and a drink.
Though KFC hasn't said this, some reports suggest that the sandwich has more than 1,200 calories.
