Ive had Beaker since about jan. 2000. its by far my favorite piece. ive recently stopped smoking out of it so frequently because i didnt want anything to happen to it. alas, it was happened, luckily he did not meet a fate nearly as bad as most glass pieces. from poking ash through, Beaker has developed a small crack on his underside, so i must put him away for good. tonight was the last time i smoked out of, Beaker, im gonna miss him.

How would the crack prevent you from enjoying Beaker further?

marooko

luckily it wasnt.

i can avoid further damage by being careful, but i dont wanna take the chance because its on the base. every time i set it down is a possibilty for breakage. i dont think i could handle that.

I see, it's more of a preventative retirement than a forced retirement due to total disfunction.

So what are you gonna do with her? Turn her in to a vase?

Instead of putting down a horse, you preserve it's grace. Very nice.

Good decision Marook. Its a nice piece. Save it for later times. Preserve its legacy.

gunz, its actually a he. i think he's just gonna go in bubble wrap for a while. maybe if i find a good little case ill put him in there. but yeah, mainly preventative.

ive never had a piece last this long, i couldnt imagine seeing it break. i think i might actually cry. haha.

whynot, thanks for the vid. sorry to hear about your losses. damn roommates.

What a gorgeous piece...can you at least keep him out as a sculpture so he's at least visual...

Good luck finding a reasonable replacement...it's difficult to fill that void!!!

So what are you gonna do with her? Turn her in to a vase? My first thought was a lovely "Bud "vase also. But, if the crack's bad enough, maybe get some of that shit they use to decorate at Halloween that looks like smoke, and put it coming up out of the bowl. Set it on your mantel and guaranteed, you've got yourself a great conversation piece!

I need a piece. I've been smoking out of my incongnito highlighter bowl or rolling joints. Lately it's been joints. When I roll up regs into a joint it does a much better job than a bowl. I love small bongs too though. Something you hold in one hand. I usually go cheap but that's a nice piece right there.

BTW...definitely a "He" piece...just look at his profile!

i dont really like to leave my stuff out. we have kids that come over and stuff, dont really wanna converse with them about it. haha.

thank you. i havent bought a new piece for a while, mainly because i dont wanna spend the money. but shop around, you can get a decent piece for 50 bucks or so. even a small bong or bubbler for under 100 easy.

My brother bought a nice little small bong in cali from a street vendor in venice. Then dropped it on the concrete when we got home (dumbass). It was really cool though and had been forever since I smoked from a bong, usually just do joints or a pipe. Now I want to go back and buy myself one.

i have a pipe i got on my 23 b-day from venice beach. still dig it.

little side story about last night. my lady doesnt smoke, she tried a few years ago, but it wasnt her thing. she was there when i bought Beaker, and she smoked out of him that night. so after cleaning him up, i waited for her to return from the dog park before smoking, just figured she may be interested in his last session. didnt even think she might actually hit it, but she did. so that was pretty cool for me. and for Beaker too im sure.

lol that is cute. i love smoking with nino, him and my girl lisa are the only people i will smoke with usually cuz I know someone always has my back if i act like a dumbass. If they aren't around I will only hit it once or maybe twice, I do have a tendency to get "too high" and has put me in some weird places.

actually she only took one small hit, so nothing major. which is surprising because for a non-smoker, she hits that shit like a champ.

When I worked at Barnes & Noble, during our hour long lunch break we would go get high, go to the local pub, have a few pints, and play some pool. It was great. Finding, organizing, and talking about books seemed to be so much more enjoyable with a healthy buzz. Although there were a few times where we might have passed our limits and then we either hid out in the stacks up stairs or in the back stock room and pretended to work. Damn, those were good times.

I worked at a golf course in high school, every time I drove the "picker" on the range I'd always have a couple cold ones and a fat doobie. I'd just cruise and listen to my headphones. If I ever win the powerball I'm applying for that job again, it was THAT much fun!

Hahaha, if I win the lottery I'll go back to my job working for a parasailing company in Newport Beach. I rode around on my rollerblades and handed out flyers. I was twisted all day, got free pizza, and free rides on the ferry.
