If you are looking cheap, look into Chinatown Express buses, BoltBus, MegaBus...they are like $20 to go from NYC to DC/Baltimore, but not all travel to all cities and aren't so reliable.

Or if you are ok with money, just take an Amtrak train from New York Penn to Baltimore Penn, there are a ton of trains that go in that direction. I think they have at least two trains that would make that trip arriving before 8 am

Thank you how long of a ride is it? How late do they run? Sorry I know this is kind of stupid but I have tried google and came up with nothing

if you are talking about the buses, they would take about 3.5/4 hours from NY to Balt, depending on traffic. These buses are usually express so they just drive straight. And usually there is one bus that leaves early in the morning and one that leaves in the later afternoon, so they run very infrequently. If you can afford it, I would highly suggest the train. They run often between the two and would take roughly the same amount of time.

I'm hoping for a train but you say 4 hours that's quite a bit

well yeah I mean if you were to straight up drive yourself it would be more than three hours with absolutely zero traffic. the only way you're getting under 3 is by air, unfortunately.

Well this sure puts a damper on my plans but oh well I'll figure it out, thanks for the help

no problem, but seriously, take a train early sunday morning. it will talk a little while, but you will get to Balt in time and there would be no problem catching up on sleep on the train.

Good point will there be trains running to get me back there that night or would it just be better to stay in Baltimore?

you could either leave vfest early and catch one back that night, or stay the night and take one at a reasonable time monday morning, or you could chill in the baltimore train station and take back what is effectively a "red eye" train that leaves at like 3 am

I guess I'll just stay in Baltimore last year I had plenty of fun after the fest so should be a good time thanks for all the help

For the rest of the board: If anyone on here has any room to spare though please let me know I'm more than willing to contribute on booze or gas

I'm not going to Virgin anymore, no dough. I recommend Amtrak and then figure how to get to the Pimlico Race Track from there.

Do I need to wear bugspray to APW?

weather in nyc looks nice right now, 86 degrees with 47% humidity...lets keep it that way! weather.com forecasts mid 80's on the 8th.
