Yep. I went there in 2003 and saw that. Had to buy a flashlight as recommended beforehand, and didn't realize I had forgotten it until 1/2 way over that so-called path as we headed to the spot where you can watch the lava hit the ocean. A family ahead of me let me join them from that point so I could see becasue there were still hotspots here and there. It's when we came to a NO PARKING sign sticking about 15 inches out of lava, that I made the mistake of anouncing,"Wow, that must have happened a long time ago, huh?" Our guide imformed us that no, it had just happened about 2 weeks before and closed the only road that circles the island! Pretty trippy to be walking along and see down into a crack where little strips of lava were flowing under you!

I went to see Bob Dylan with a friend two nights ago at the Bethel Woods Arts Center, a hideous monstrosity on the site of the original Woodstock Festival. Naturally, we got there are early as possible so we could bag on the '60s museum, which was about as far from whatever the spirit of that bygone era was meant to be as is possible.

I did sit on a beanbag chair, though.

The above pictures were taken by my friend in the museum, which had a special exhibit devoted to the Toronto Bed-In by John Lennon and Yoko Ono back in 1969.
