dude. dizzee rascal, animal collectice, and chromeo, each playing for like half an hour, is so not worth spending $50 to stand in the smog and baking sun at fort york.

Fer real? Not even for Cat POwer? How do you know theyre only playing for half an hour?

frozen pilgrim

well, it's fort york, so there can't be multiple stages (at least not more than one decent sized one), so their set times will be fucking short. it's not like the openers will get an hour. also, I have no desire to see cat power or city & colour

So, like, you;re waiting for Nickelback to come to town, featuring Sum 41, to the ACC, and to spend $150 for 2 hours?

I cant decide who is worse... City & Colour or Alexisonfire

um, excuse me?

I don't like either of those bands.

if you'd like to see an example of a concert I attended, which I found worthwhile, why not peruse the mildly interesting mother site of this little message board-
www.coachella.com

or, you could suck my ass.

and incidentally, I would rather, for example, pay $90 to see the red hot chili peppers at the ACC, from the eighth row, raised, with a clear view of the stage, and beer and air conditioning, and space to dance, than spend $50 to go hang out with idiots like you under a goddamn bridge at the foot of bathurst street under the gardiner expressway to get fucking sunstroke at the most boring historical attraction currently known to man while being subjected to fucking city & colour and alexisonfire just so I can see (maybe) a half hour each of three good acts. well, two great acts and one fun-but-not-exactly-credible one (chromeo).
not to mention handing over my money to the only company on earth (rogers) so fucking evil that apple, the current world monopoly kings on turning little hipsters upside down and shaking them by the ankles for their milk money, made them lower their plan prices.
/rant.

Yeah, you are right... there are a couple, litterally two, Alexisonefire songs I don't mind. I can't even listen to a whole City & Colour song.

and if you're gonna pull the "boohoo- travelling=not a fair example" BS, fine. I payed $60 after charges to see george clinton and parlaiment funkadelic at the phoenix.
one band, and 1000000000000% better than the fucking rogers picnic.

alexisonfire was cool when I was 14. I knew a couple of their songs on guitar back then.
but would I pay money to listen to them? D: D: D:

I saw City and Colour at VFest Calgary a couple weeks ago. He did the whole thing on electric guitar with a band, which made it a little more interesting to me than the acousticified albums. Still, the best part of the set, IMO, was when Gord Downey came out to sing a tune with them. Other than that, not my cuppa tea.

when gord downey doing one song upstages you and your whole backing band...
you don't deserve to be billed above dizzee rascal. or animal collective.

"Soooooooo, you're sayin' there's a chance!" (Dumb & Dumber)

ok ok ok, Pilgrim. I am hearing you loud and clearrr. Yowza.

I saw P Funk too, btw, and I must (reluctantly) agree with you- they put on a GREAT show, his granddaughter played too and she rocked. It was at Toronto Jazz Fest a few yrs ago.

Anyone on here go to this? I think the rain made it even more fun! The bands were amazing, they all had great set times and everyone seemed to get right into things without letting the rain bring them down! Such a great fest!
