"Anti- has announced the signing of One Day as a Lion, the new project from Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine and drummer Jon Theodore, formerly of Mars Volta.

The name taken from the infamous 1970 black and white, captured by legendary Chicano photographer George Rodriguez featuring a center framed tag on a white wall in an unspecified section of Boyle Heights. It reads: ‘It’s better to live one day as a lion, than a thousand years as a lamb.’ This record is a stripped down attempt to realize this sentiment in sound

The EP was recorded by Robert Carranza at Ocean Way Recording. It is due out July 22, 2008. To date, no music is available but it is expected to appear shortly."

it's weird that this is the first one of all the things that Zach has recorded and collaborations that he has been a part of since Rage split up.

He had done stuff with DJ PREMIER, ?UESTLOVE, and a bunch of other people.
Apparently, he had recorded something like 30+ tracks for the solo album that never came out.

Whatever. This should be awesome. At least in theory its awesome.
Then again, in theory, Audioslave was awesome. It wasn't.

The only thing that made Audioslave worth listening to were some of Tom Morello's solos. Besides that, Audioslave were just plain boring radio rock.

Oh my god... this is awesome. I love Zack's singing voice, and it is awesome he is using it so much. His rapping also sounds as great as ever. I am really looking forward to this album.

Not remotely arguing your point because relative to all that he's been up to this is nothing but if you haven't heard it he sings the Chorus on track 4 (Act III Scene 2 (Shakespeare)) of Saul Williams' self-titled which also happens to be a great disc.

Fair enough, but I mean this is the first offering with his name on it as the lead.
I know he did that track with DJ Shadow a while back, but that was just one song on a website that a one-time thing. I m referring to this project.

The songs are cool but sort of sound like they are a Tom Morello-less version of Rage between Evil Empire and Battle of Los Angeles. Zack is good at what he does though. It's enjoyable.

I listened to the album once through. Its pretty cool. It sort of reminds me of some of the Beastie Boys instrumental and rock stuff. Not so much their last album but more Check Your Head era Beasties. I ll give it another listen.

I also like that Zack veered from the rapping and tried his hand at more singing on this. Itd be interesting to see what they do if they were to incorporate other instruments. We'll see.

It is totally cool, you know, when your hanging out with your friends and family. I thought he was going to put out a whole album like that when I first watched it.

The song Wild International sounds just like Rage. I need to get this album.
