For those who have Vegas plans toward August, then you might want to check out Oakenfold's sets on Saturday. He is also collaborating with the producers of Roger Water's show so it may be worth checking out. He'll also be helped out by other heavy hitters.

*If this has been mentioned I do apologize.

Trust me, it hasn't. The people here pretty much hate Oakenfold.

Oakenfold came off as a snob in the Mixmag anniversary issue. I'm not a Tiesto fan, but he had such a condescending tone about him playing big arenas when the question was clearly meant as a platform for him to give props.

Between that and the fuckery he pulled with Crazy Town, Oakenfold can go listen to Tha Carter III for all I care.

Well, I don't really care if people hate him I just heard the news and thought I'd share it with those who might be interested in seeing him in Vegas. So if he's not your cup of tea then fine, but some people might be interested. Also, with his influence, you know he'll pull some big names to the Palms on the Saturdays he doesn't spin.

I saw him a couple of years ago, looking forward to his set.

His mixing sucks. He can make really good studio tracks and good production for his albums, but live he is just...bleh.

After seeing him in 2006@ Coach I liked his stuff enough to go get one of his CDs with a bonus live performance disc. Is he as arrogant as he came across on that disc?

Wheres the beef?

I don't care what you say. Perfecto Presents Another World Disc 1 is amazingly good.

Seeing as how much you all love Oakey, he's playing Tentation in Irvine, CA on Thursday night, as well. Didn't think it was deserving of a new thread.

EDIT: Tentation may actually be in Newport Beach. Can't remember exactly. It's in that general area.

What did he pull with Crazy Town? They're that band that had that "Butterfly" song a few years ago, yeah? "Come my lady, come come my lady, do the butterfly (something, something)"

Oakenfold's Tranceport I disc was one of the first trance CDs I bought and found moving enough to dance to. His "Hypnotized" track is also pretty good. Despite that, I didn't bother to see him before Madonna at Coachella '06. Did see him at my first Coachella (2002), though, and was bothered by him and his crowd.

I agree.. Disc 1 was better than disc 2. I really like some of his CD's... especially Tranceport and Voyage into Trance.. He does suck now though.. Another World was like 2001.. and he has changed a lot since then.. I mean just look at his photos.

His studio production has always been really good and impressive, but his live mixing isn't good at all.
