I admit that I have a fondness for sad bastard songs. Below are the songs I can always count on when I want to wallow:

"Casimir Pulaski Day" - Sufjan Stevens (If I can make it past "I am crying in the bathroom" without tearing up myself, I know that I'm having a pretty good day.)
"16 Days" - Whiskeytown
"Fix You" - Coldplay ("Tears stream down your face"? Why yes, they do.)
Kelly Clarkson/Jeff Beck's cover of "Up to the Mountain" by Patty Griffin (Yeah, laugh it up. Still doesn't change the fact that it makes me cry.)
"When A Man Loves A Woman" - Percy Sledge (When the horns kick in at the end? Damn.)
"Never My Love" - The Association
"Ordinary People" - John Legend
"Vienna" - Billy Joel
"The Art Teacher" - Rufus Wainwright
"Boulder to Birmingham" - Emmylou Harris
All songs performed by Kristen Vigard in the movie Grace Of My Heart.

There are more, but I'm more interested in what you guys have to say. What songs make you cry? Make you want to drink?

I suppose there's a lot more but for being sad or want to drink I would say Soft Cell works great. Marc Almond is genius.

sad- Say hello wave goodbye
- Loving you hating me
- Soul inside

drink & coke - It's a mugs game
Memorabilia
Insecure me

Regina Spektor's Samson made me cry at Coachella. Normally I avoid songs that make me want to cry

Usually it's not the sad songs that make me weepy, it's the overwhelmingly sweet ones.

"Skinny Love" by Bon Iver. My ex and I had slow, sweet sex to it one lazy afternoon. Now I become a pussy when I listen to it.

Actually, Bon Iver's whole album is bittersweet. "Creature Fear" makes me cry, too. So does "Wolves (Act I and II)."
