Maybe circa 1995, but otherwise... No. Just like no fucking Queen with Paul Rodgers, no Alice and Chains with Random Guy McDuderson.

that just made this thread so much worse. if you are going to talk about 90's grunge at Coachella limit it to a Soundgarden reunion.

i think you answered your own question...
as far as AIC, jerry cantrell does half the songs, it's like seeing Roger Waters instead of pink floyd (sorta, don't flame me)...
and STILL...
alice in chains @ coachella >>> stp or chris cornell at coachella... ugh
(i wouldn't mind Nirvana reuniting with Courtney on vocals... okay, i would mind, but if it happened at coachella i'd be watching...)

Seriously, if something would, in fact, ruin Coachella it would involve these fake-ass "reunion" bands.
I mean, look at Street Scene, it had a fucking Smiths tribute band and the goddamn VILLAGE PEOPLE last year and tanked. And that's just one small step down from bands like Queen + Paul Rodgers and Alice In Chains + Steve Whogivesafuck?
rage patton
06-12-2008, 12:55 AM
Not gonna lie... I saw Queen + Paul Rogers and it was a pretty good show. But it most certainly does not belong at Coachella. Or even again. Once was enough.
Also, I was not a huge AIC fan before Layne died... and the fact they are continuing without him is disgusting. I would avoid seeing them like the plaugue.
As well... that Nirvana reuniting with Courtney Love on vocals comments almost make me puke.

if they did nirvana again itd have to be dave singing and pat smear would have to play guitar. and i really dont think dave could pull off the needed vocals while still giving it all on the drums

There is no acceptable way to do a Nirvana "reunion." Besides, I think both Dave and Krist would actually kill themselves before even considering a Nirvana "reunion."

this was the year of "gee, let's experiment with three extremely different headliners..." let's not have another year of that. that includes alice in chains

The only good thing Jerry Cantrell has ever done is his cameo in Jerry Maguire.

INXS was my first concert and still in the top 5. I won't forget Dec17, 1990 as long as I live. However, I couldn't bear to go see them now. Hutch was to INXS as Freddie was to Queen.

I will bet cold, hard cash that Dave, Krist, Pat & Courtney do at LEAST two Nirvana songs together when Nirvana becomes eligiable and is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.... bet on it.

Love's already performed You Know You're Right live years before the album release of it... i've got a bootleg laying around somewhere... it's pretty shitty and she fucks up the lyrics, which is funny...
but yeah, if the Hall of Fame thing happens, i totally see that being on of the two or three songs they'd do...

as long as you won't hold me to the two song limit... and we can agree that SOME sort of reunion will take place at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame...
i'd say $10
i'd bet more, but we won't know for what, like 5 or 6 more years or something? what year are they up to for eligibility? 1983?
*edit: (Patton, hit me up for your $10 in 2014 if Pat Smear doesn't show up or cause Love is dead from an OD by then lol)

I am willing to bet $100 that NO reunion of any sort takes place. It would not surprise me if Dave, Krist, Pat and Courtney were all there to accept the award... but they will not be performing together.
However, if you only want to be a measily $10... then so be it. But if you are up for it, I am upping it too $100.

i'll bet $100 that songs will be performed by people among those four, but not that they'll all play together... although i still think it'll happen...
menikmati
06-13-2008, 08:20 AM
There will be no Nirvana reunion. Never. No way on God's green Earth would Krist and Dave (or Chad) and Pat ever take the stage with Courtney fronting the mic, even just for two songs. That will never happen.
There's no need for a Nirvana reunion. There's no way to do it. If Krist and Dave (and Chad and I guess Pat) wanna get up on stage together and say thanks, ok that's one thing, but you will never see that group all performing together calling themselves Nirvana. Never happening.

True, however I wouldn't mind seeing Maynard Keenan on vocals for them.
On the subject of harder rock (alice in chains, Metallica were mentioned) What do you guys think of Motorhead. They played SXSW and got a big reaction. I bet Lemmy and the gang could fit with the coachella crowd.
