Theres always something to do in LA. Lots of Coachella acts play the LA area right after Coachella maybe you can catch a band on Mon night in LA. Or you could just do the tourist thing.

The Motel 6 in Hollywood is cheap and the rooms are nice. Its right in the middle of everything. There are tons of concert venues and clubs just one block away on Hollywood blvd. Below is a link to the Motel 6 Hollywood website.

I just checked the availabilty of the Motel 6 on the 25th and there are rooms for $65 a night. Thats pretty cheap. Hollywood is a 2 hr drive to Coachella depending on the traffic. If you leave after you check out on the 26 traffic should be fine and you can make it to the campground in less than 2 hrs.

Wednesday Night Clubs Guide
Grooving with downtempo divas? Getting it on with A-list celebs? Getting crafty on the Eastside? There are plenty of arousing options to keep you occupied. It's hump day, after all. (Please note: Promoters are sometimes flaky and cancel events at the last minute, or take a week off, or disappear without warning. Clubbers are advised to call the venue before heading out.)—Alexandra Le Tellier

Lindsay Lohan, Justin Timberlake, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jessica Simpson, Lance Armstrong and Jessica Biel are among the celebrity regulars who party at this lounge above one of Hollywood’s trendiest restaurants; everyone else looks like they could have a cameo on an MTV reality show.

This elite squad of scintillating super-gymnasts swing from ropes, scale ceiling beams and somehow avoid toppling over while dancing to Steven Tyler in four-inch heels. Keep your wallets in your pocket at this free music night that lures in the hottest local indie bands for residencies.
1717 Silver Lake Blvd., Silver Lake | (323) 661-4380
7. Showgirls at Micky's
This WeHo hotspot hosts one of LA's best (and best-kept secret) drag shows. The queens are of the lip-synching variety and the whole production is very, um, budget-friendly. Drinks are two-for-one all night.
8857 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood | (310) 657-1176
8. Rock 'n Roll Karaoke at Bigfoot Lodge
With a solid karaoke catalog, this club gets packed on Mondays as if the weekend hasn't ended. Doors open at 5pm for happy hour, but the real rocking doesn't begin until 10pm. There's also Kamikaze day on the last Monday of the month where those who sign up must sing what the bar has chosen for them. Bravery is rewarded with $3 kamikaze shots.

13. Mondays at Falcon
At John Corbett's hidden spot on Sunset Boulevard, there are soft leather couches, white shag carpeting, touches of glossy dark wood and an entire wall that opens up to a sunken patio with fireplaces. But the best element is watching the man who played Carrie Bradshaw's hunky, sensitive beau on "Sex and the City" occasionally strum his acoustic guitar on Mondays. Other entertainment comes from Gavin Degraw and band members from Camp Freddy.
7213 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles | (323) 850-5350

3787 Cahuenga Blvd., Studio City
16. Miami Mondays at Joseph’s
Break out the hot-pink blazers and the lime-green chiffon for this Florida-inspired night. But leave your grandma at home—if she didn’t faint at the sight of all the scantily-clad girls dancing to DJ Splyce’s mix of rock and hip-hop, she’d certainly embarrass you by showing baby pictures to the handsome gentlemen of Enter-LA, Industry Intelligence, Hoss Events and The Crue, who put on the night. Call Brandon Crawford at (310) 386-2862 to get on the list.

I land at 7.30pm, but with the timezone it will be 3.30am UK time.

I'll be dead after the 18 hours of travelling, I've got my hotel booked in palm springs for 1 night before I make my way to indio the next day.

You really dont want to do this (not a safe area) even if the police let you stay. Book a cheap Hotel near Manhatten Beach - Safer and there's stuff going on after the 8:00pm curfew at Venice!

That's actually not a bad list posted by dekr510. I like the Bigfoot Lodge on Wednesdays, although it can be a bit of a scene.

The best thing might be to pick up an LA Weekly when you arrive and read the full list of events they publish.

I ususaly stay in LA the first few nights to stay with friends. We got sick of it and decided to fly into Santa Anna this year.

Going from Dublin to LA. You will have LOTS to see. Have fun !
